I’m sitting here thinking after doing a couple of bong hits and this question dawned on me. Now, more than ever, the thought of having Nina Turner run is more appealing to me than ever before. I don’t know who else would willing to run–Tulsi seems to have had her chance–that is unless she is able to reconcile with the base in some way or another. But I think she may have blown it. But I have been wrong before. But Nina has the name recognition and the fire to motivate progressives for 2024. And she is not as nice as Bernie was. Though that may not go over well with the ass-hats at MSBS. Still, progressives are going to be hungry for someone like Bernie and I think Nina is the closest alternative there is. And I’m sure Krystal Ball and Michael Moore are going to be asking the same question in the coming days. So the first name that came to my mind was Nina. Progressives appreciate someone who is nice, but in this climate of corporate oligarchy, being nice won’t cut it. So I think the time is now that people start considering who they want in 4 years and I think Nina may be the best choice. If that is the case, then we should start encouraging her to think about it, and keep progressive issues like M4A, student loan forgiveness, climate change, etc on the front burner. Then we can call her Turner the Burner. BTW, there was a DJ in L.A. in the 70’s called “Turner the Burner”, so I think it works well.

they will have their own party in 4 years. If they don’t, I am not interested in anything coming from the democrat party.

All governments lie to their citizen's, but only Americans believe theirs.

It’s time to work on a third party.

It could be the JPR party until things get clearer.

Joe Biden has been described as “Progressive”.

We are an arrogant species, believing our fantasy based "facts" are better than the other person's fake facts.

If you are wrong, it will be because you are not cynical enough.

Both major political parties are special interest groups enabling each other for power and money, at the expense of the people they no longer properly serve…

As long as she doesn’t change, doesn’t start being weird and going against Bernie. She does seem to have a fire within her, and I like that. Madame I Ain’t Taking Your Shit Turner. LOL

But the first thing we’re going to have to put up is a gallows or a guillotine. We have to take power from the ruling elite first, and we can’t do it by voting alone because the system’s rigged.

The coronavirus, the coming depression and climate change disasters and migrations will destroy the current order. They will also create opportunities, and somebody sometime is going to seize one. Things are moving too fast right now for me to even guess at what the best plan may be. In fact, it might be no-plan, if you’ll allow a Zenism.

Anyway, are we talking about starting a new party? Or staying within the Lucy Van Pelt pulling away the football party?

I don’t think most here are too interested in the latter. The question is, will someone like Nina be interested in the former?

@bernin4u Nina Turner was my state senator. I voted for her. I like her a lot, but she has always been a Democrat. I don’t know if she would be willing to break away from the Democratic Party and lead an outsider challenge or not.

Either Trump will win and do all he can to totally consolidate power, or long shot, Biden wins, and there is no space for progressives against the doddering old incumbent puppet.

And in either case I kind of wonder if the social fabric of this country will survive the full four years to reach that point.

Even if she doesn’t win, it would get her the necessary experience and exposure to win in a landslide 4 years from now.

The scary thing is, I don’t see that many great options. I would probably say the best one is Tulsi, but her campaign didn’t go anywhere and I know a lot of progressives are mad at her for not endorsing Bernie.

movement. It’s been deliberately co-opted by RW Vichy Dems like Hillary McCarthy and JoeMentia.

Then hit the ground to start a new party. I really like “The People’s Party” because it encompasses the 99%. It’s US. And Nick Brana is and has been – since 2016 – ready to hit the ground running and has experience in organizing.

A few ideas for candidates :

      Chris Hedges

      Kyle Kulinski

      Rashida Tailib

      David Sirota

      Shaun King

Michael Moore (except he’s always one of those Vote Blue No Matter Who types 🙄)

      Tim Canova

I would have added AOC, but it looks like she has made a RIGHT TURN. ☹️

Whoever it is, needs to have balls. They need to be willing to FIGHT and go for the jugular. No one is their “friend” unless they support our policies and values. No more wishy-washy candidates who fear the corrupt DNC or corrupt GOP.

And it needs to be someone with enough chutzpah to bring the corrupt evoting issue OUT IN THE OPEN. Someone willing to BURN THOSE DAMN THINGS. Take us back to voting on PAPER and implement election integrity by having cameras in EVERY POLLING PLACE while ballots are being counted – cameras that can read the actual ballot vote and at least 2 campaign volunteers per candidate watching over the counting and witnessing every move made. And ballots are NEVER to be left with any one PERSON – which opens the door for shenanigans.

      it doesn’t matter.

She would stand no more a chance than Bernie if she ran Democratic,or than Jill Stein if she ran as a Green.

There is only one way change will come now,and that is not to be wished for.But the system made it inevitable when they shut Bernie down.I won’t see it in my time, but perhaps the grandchildren of the young, fed up with the results of climate change, will be the ones with pitchforks and torches.

may be against the law in 4 years.

The truth is, there’s no such thing as being “anti-Fascist.” Either you are a decent human being with a conscience, or you are a fascist.
