Remember when I was sounding off about how after the latest shooting, there were some worrying indications that they were going after our 1st Amendment rights, instead of actually doing anything positive?
Where, they would just go after Websites and others so that they would limit what we can say? So that instead of actually doing anything to the 2nd amendment, they will just go after the 1st amendment instead? Because it would be easier for them to control us, and this would most likely be bi-partisan.
Not to mention that they would most likely do this while something else big is going on?

White House proposal would have FCC and FTC police alleged social media censorship
Updated 8:15 AM ET, Sat August 10, 2019
Washington (CNN Business) A draft executive order from the White House could put the Federal Communications Commission in charge of shaping how Facebook (), Twitter ( ) and other large tech companies curate what appears on their websites, according to multiple people familiar with the matter. The draft order, a summary of which was obtained by CNN, calls for the FCC to develop new regulations clarifying how and when the law protects social media websites when they decide to remove or suppress content on their platforms. Although still in its early stages and subject to change, the Trump administration’s draft order also calls for the Federal Trade Commission to take those new policies into account when it investigates or files lawsuits against misbehaving companies. Politico first reported the existence of the draft.

Ironic for a Trump White House official to call Twitter a “cesspool of venom,” when much of the venom comes from Trump himself. Well, Trump is definitely authoritarian, as are his supporters, so it’s no surprise they seek authority over the Internet. This is important and thank you for posting it. Just one more reason I’m glad I renewed my membership with the ACLU; we need them now as much as we ever did.

@ohiobarbarian Yeah, agreed. My issue is, this is being pushed while they are doing the narrative for the shooting as justification, and looking different places, I see Democrats advocating for censorship as well. I get frustrated.
