South Omaha horse left ‘totally defenseless’ after tail is cut off

Terri Hendryx (at right) watches Lucy, a 5-year-old horse, after her tail was cut off most likely to make a profit according to her owners.

An Omaha couple awoke Thursday morning to feed their two horses and discovered one had a shortened tail.
“God almighty, someone’s cut off her tail,” Ron Hendryx said.
Someone had snipped the tail off of 5-year-old Lucy, an American quarter horse, overnight Wednesday at the Hendryx acreage in South Omaha.

It may have been the first incident of a horse’s tail being cut in Douglas County, said Kelli Brown, director of field operations for the Nebraska Humane Society.

    1. totally serious, but a weave might work.

artificial hair integration (or a weave), until the horse’s tail grows back — could help to protect the horse.

this is just sad and horrible.
