Tara Reade dropped by prominent lawyer following reports that she may have misrepresented her education credentials in court

A prominent lawyer announced on Friday that he is no longer representing Tara Reade, a former Senate staffer who accused former Vice President Joe Biden of sexual assault.
This comes as Reade faces scrutiny over whether she misled courts about her education credentials for nearly 10 years while she served as an expert witness on domestic violence.
The attorney, Douglas Wigdor, hasn’t said why he dropped Reade but told The New York Times on Friday that he still believes Reade’s allegations against Biden. Wigdor took on Reade’s case just two weeks ago.

Imo, unless some more credible evidence gets produced, or more accusers come forward, that could be what Tara Reade will need to sustain significant credibility, and relevance. She’s up against an effective smear machine that has enormous resources that can be deployed, regardless of being used for the guilty or the innocent.
This is high stakes, and either Biden or Reade deserves some comeuppance/vindication.

a. There are allegations that she may have misled courts about her education credentials.
b. Her attorney dropped her case, won’t say why, but says he still believes her.
There is a nasty suggestion that a caused b. Yet correlation doesn’t automatically imply causation.
Also, note the words “may” and “misled” in the first point. Even more important, note that her lawyer still believes her!
Poor woman is running right into the Vichy Democrat buzz saw. As if she hasn’t suffered enough already. I fear they will completely destroy her.
Besides, she looooooves Putin!!

comments I made about her and Groper Joe at all. Her credibility is shot to fuck, and I am nothing if not a logic and fact-driven creature. Ryan Grim looks a fool atm now too, with his denying that the tweets he is now deleting had anything to do with Reade (Twitter of course instantly showed him to be a liar, lolol) FFS. He is on Stockholmer bullshit detector probation now with me.
I am sure some on here will still cling onto Reade. Waste of time IMHO, she is legitimately and completely discredited in my book, sorry.
Hope all are staying safe and sound!

but I think a paragraph from MistaP’s linked article above says it best, so that I can jump right in here and remind you that just because you blow off sexual harassment or worse, certainly situations of extreme cruelty, the ultimate bullshit meter calibrater is writing stuff that stinks more than bullshit – pay-off assumptions, and credibility… All this tells me is that you wrote insensitively and don’t know the facts any better than any one of us here.
The problem, of course, is that if Democrats, like Republicans, are willing to set aside credible allegations of sexual assault in order to secure political gain, then we will be collectively taking a number of steps backward from the progress we have made with the #MeToo movement. Shame on us if survivors will only be taken seriously and believed when they make an allegation against a member of the GOP.
Hell, no... I'm not giving up...

@mrmickeysmom That’s not to say there is no truth to her story. Odds are, her accusation against Biden is not correct. But it could be. The real problem is that Reade is on her own. No other women have come forward. Reade’s friends who tried to verify her story couldn’t add much that helped. By keeping the story alive, we’re not helping Tara Reade. I suppose there could be some kind of formal inquiry, but I don’t know who would make that happen or how it might work. As things stand now, it’s a matter of the media and Biden supporters dogpiling on Tara Reade and digging up uncomplimentary information about her. She could be a courageous survivor of sexual assault, determined to press forward without worrying about negative consequences, but she will never be vindicated. I think the kindest thing for Tara Reade is to allow the story to fade away, which is not very kind at all, but seems better than continuing to subject her to public vilification.

There is no point in continuing to evaluate her, her story, her life, her credibility, or anything else about her. As they used to say in the old detective movies, “It ain’t aspic if it don’t gel, and this don’t gel.” Reade is not credible. There are too many holes in her story, and she exhibits too many personality quirks to be believable. Unfortunately, the way this breaks down is those who dislike Biden want to believe Reade, while Biden supporters don’t believe her. Then, depending on how one feels about Biden, Reade is either an innocent victim or a conniving sleazebag. The situation has degenerated to the point that all discussion centers on Reade, not on the merits of the allegations. The shame is that those trying to protect Biden are conducting a character assassination campaign against Tara Reade, and they’re holding back nothing. These attacks are pointless because Reade’s accusations are fizzling out all by themselves. The story can be discredited without attacking the accuser. Further discussion just subjects Reade to more humiliation.

The fact that Joe has lied about things doesn’t mean he’s a rapist and the fact that she has lied about things doesn’t mean she lied about this incident.
Would love to see how they explain away the fact that she told multiple people about the attack in the past, that her mother called in to talk about it in the past, and the fact that it was alluded to in court documents during her divorce. I guess she was either playing a really long con or she’s able to time-travel to change past events to suit her story. Or of course, she was telling the truth. That one seems the most likely to me.

Biden has more holes in his life story than Tara.
