• Update on weirdness

Update on site issues: (1. replies now need a title *and* something in the message box, 2. certain links are causing strange pop-ups on Apple devices, and 3. Some folks can't type anything into the text box.) Basically, a series of unfortunate events set us back on testing. We'll get to it as soon as we can, and hopefully things can get fixed by this weekend if not before.  More info: https://jackpineradicals.com/boards/topic/site-problems-more-info/

Teamsters Local 688 reaches agreement with Schnucks

Teamsters Joint Council 13 released the following statement on Facebook tonight:

“Schnucks Markets and Teamsters Local 688 have negotiated a settlement. The boycott is now over, and all members are encouraged to shop at Schnucks again. Thanks to all who supported this boycott. Your help in this effort is greatly appreciated.”

    – Mike Goebel, Teamsters Local 688 executive secretary-treasurer

We’ll have more information on this development in our March 23 print edition.

      2. It's good to hear that some settlement has come about

The devil is in the details, but XPO their 3rd party non-union operator really screwed their distribution up badly. One hopes that by returning the Union workforce things will get back to a semblance of normality over time. I never could understand the logic of Schnucks owning the building, owning the stuff inside the building but hiring some 3rd party logistics company to run the place and having no direct say over the day to day operations. It was a recipe for disaster and they cooked it very well into just that.
