Due to the spiking COVID “new case” numbers in WA, Whole Washington has cancelled signature gathering for I-1362 that would have put bill SB 5204 on the WA ballot so WA residents could vote for affordable healthcare coverage.

Whole Washington and WA citizens are fighting for affordable universal health care against a Dem controlled legislature and governor that are beholden to the powerful health care lobby.

WA is considered a “Blue” state and is a good example that Blue isn’t necessarily good. While the Right doesn’t care if we all die, the so-called moderates just want us to give all our money to the healthcare industry which in turn give them their cut.

Whether or not a single state strategy is the best, it’s absurd to argue that WA residents shouldn’t try to forge ahead and try to save lives in our state.

Most questions about the Whole Washington’s bill are answered in the wholewashington.org FAQ page.

Passing COVID along by collecting signatures is the worst possible look for a health care campaign.  I’m sympathetic, but don’t know how they could have countered the massive amounts of money that Pharma and the insurance industry would throw at them.

going up against the big money but I’d rather go down fighting. The media is, of course on the side of the corporations.

Now that the establishment knows they can scare people back into their homes every time some new virus comes along, rest assured there will always be some new virus coming along. They’re not worried about Covid, they’re worried about Washington voters voting for Medicare for All.

But we have a choice to either fight to the death or acquiesce.  I choose to fight. Where do you stand?

Fight how? With petitions? Whatever floats your boat, but I’ve given up on the electoral process altogether. I just lived through a rigged election in my congressional district, and no one is even questioning the election itself, not even the victim of the rigging.

It will take direct action to change anything, actions like strikes that involve the threat of violence. We live in an oligarchy, and oligarchies never give up power, any power, unless they are physically afraid of not doing so. Until you realize that, all of your “fighting” will be in vain.

This is a site dedicated to those who participate in the electoral process as it is now structured, which I did until very recently. Now I know that Bernie Sanders and the Squad are all colossal frauds, yet I see people who have lived through the same things I have still saying we have no choice but to vote for these charlatans. I don’t respect that. I can’t respect them. Perhaps it is time for me to move on to other endeavors, and just enjoy what’s left of my life as much as I can before the shit really hits the fan. And it will.

It’s impossible. But if there is a chance that I can make the powers that be just a little uncomfortable then I will try.
No one has shown any kind of plan for direct action. I’ve asked for at least a decade but no one gets past the slogan stage. Actually the revolution that some want has started and the People are losing. Occupy Wall Street and Black Lives Matters have been squashed by the government police while fascist groups like the Proud Boys are given the freedom to commit mayhem in the streets like Hitler’s Brown Shirts.
If you can withdraw and find happiness, more power to you, sincerely.

They’ve been played up to scare people, just like on the crazy right Antifa has been played up to scare people. Whenever some group like the Proud Boys does something bad, there’s nearly always an FBI agent or six and a couple of undercover cops mixed in, meaning nothing would have happened without these agents provocateurs who want to scare people into giving their organizations more money to protect them from insignificant threats.

When a successful revolution comes, it is always a surprise, even to the revolutionaries themselves. Lenin was in Switzerland and completely caught off guard by the abdication of the czar. The French aristocracy didn’t know what hit them until it was way too late. Charles I of England was oblivious until mobs surrounded his palace at Hampton Court before he fled London at the beginning of the English Revolution. The British were stunned when the colonists shot back at them in 1775.

I guess my point is that surprise, speed, chaos, and spontaneous actions are what makes revolutions successful; otherwise the authorities would have taken steps to prevent such a thing from happening. This means there is nothing I, or anyone else, can do to successfully plan an overthrow of our arrogant kleptocracy. Occupy, BLM, all of them are just precursors to the real thing, but they did spread class consciousness, an awareness of the class rigidity of our system, and BLM especially showed what people can do when they really set their minds to it.

I’m not without hope; I just have no hope in the electoral process and have known that nonviolent movements never accomplish anything by themselves for many years. Not when the ruling class is as entrenched as it is in America. Right now the most revolutionary thing going on isn’t even being reported, and that is the refusal of millions to work slave wage jobs, or their willingness to quit in a heartbeat. They call it the labor shortage, but it’s really the working class saying NO to going back to working two or three jobs. Something will come of this.
