The neolibs have lost their minds: debunking their talking points
Over the past few weeks, as yet another poll showing Bernie Sanders to be the country’s most popular politician is published, Democratic Party centrist, neoliberals and their Brock-loving sycophants have been spewing the most ridiculous talking points all over social media.
Some of it is downright laughable, but some of it is beginning to show the psychosis of a party in deep denial.
First, they think Bernie helped Putin.
They go after a female military vet for saying Joan Walsh was wrong to judge Ivanka by her outfit (and she was):
And, finally, they are seriously spreading the talking point that Bernie is stealing Hillary’s platform.
Plz stop trying to elevate Bernie! Dems don't want him and he will not win. He lied about Hillary and is now trying to steal her platform

Bernie has now adopted all of HRC's platform. it's hilarious.

Now, it should be noted that most voters probably would scratch their heads at these hilariously incorrect memes, but the sad fact is the media is controlled by large corporations who are supportive of Hillary’s neoliberal principles, so will never point the finger and laugh at this garbage.
What’s worse, is that the Brock-bot and willing HRC-fan dupes are spreading some false memes the M$M HAS picked up and we need to be prepared to argue against, such as:
- All of Bernie’s endorsements have failed.
This is a lie. If you look only at the four prominent special elections candidates, it is true, but that’s the not the entirety of Our Revolution and Berniecrats. In fact, somewhere between 60-65 percent of Bernie-style candidates have won nationwide – many of them in “Trump Country.” While it’s hard to pin down the exact percentage because these candidates are sometimes spread between Our Revolution, Brand New Congress, Justice Democrats and Berniecrats, a quick scan of the win/loss records of these candidates proves the percentage to be at around the 60 percent rate.
- Our Revoluion 2016 Candidates
- Our Revolution 2017 Candidate
- Berniecrats (Note: This one is not as up-to-date and hard to read, but it’s good for basic background info)
2. Bernie will be too old to run!
While it’s true that Bernie will be 79 in 2020, it’s also true that he’s in remarkable shape. In fact, he’s in better shape than both Trump and Clinton who are younger than he is as evidenced by Trump’s weight and Clinton’s frailty exhibited on last year’s campaign trail.
It’s also true that Bernie’s older brother who, at 82, just ran for British Parliament last year and seems completely spry and competent in interviews, which proves the Sanders brothers are a healthy lot.
Also, Nelson Mandela became president at 76. Quite simply, age is a construct and doesn’t mean much if you’re healthy and have good access to medical care (like Bernie wishes we all had).
3. Bernie is just like Trump!
While this likely was born out of the “they only support the white, working class” trope, the fact is that this is the stupidest Hillbot talking point out there.
Poll show that Bernie’s LOWEST support group are white males. He’s far more beloved by women and people of color.
You can post the polls showing he’s popular with nearly everyone, but beware: Embedded in this line of attack is that Bernie never did anything for Civil Rights since his protests in the 60s. This “what have you done for me lately” attitude is common, but also easily debunked.
Here is a list of Bernie’s Civil Rights chops:
- Raising Money for Koren Orphans
- Calling for Full Gay Equality 40 years ago
- Condemned And Opposed Welfare Reform and Dog Whistle Politics under Bill Clinton
- Was the only white legislator in Congress to support Jess Jackson’s presidential run
- Was the only white legislator to regularly attend Black Congressional Caucus meetings, particularly those on voting rights.

4. Jane Sanders is a Crook!
First, the most obvious response to this is a no-brainer: Jane isn’t the candidate, so what? But, because we love Jane, here’s some facts:
- The Catholic Church has said they weren’t defrauded and ended up making more money on the sale than they thought they would, anyway.
- The investigation was started at the request of Trump’s former Vermont campaign manager and all-around liberal irritant Brady Toesing, who’s had it in for Bernie for years.
That said, we should be VERY wary of this one and not condemn it as political shenanigans outright.
While I certainly believe that Jane did nothing wrong – I refer to it as similar to asking your friends and neighbors to pledge a buck to you for every lap you complete at the Walk-a-Thon, but having them renege when it comes time to pay, totally not your fault – but we have to be conscious of the fact that political elites on both sides will stop at nothing to sideline Bernie.
Luckily, this grand jury is convened in Vermont, where Bernie enjoys a 75-80 percent approval rating, so the people hopefully will see through this political witch hunt.
Now, I’m sure there will be more stupid memes and talking points as we move forward, but these are just the few bigger ones I’m seeing out there.
