The reporter makes general statements like “It’s unclear if Sanders will get the same voter support in 2020 as he did in 2016” and “He’s a lion of the left, but not the only one roaring” and “some aides who worked on his last campaign have signed on with other candidates.”
Those. Are. Not. “Smears.” They are simply statements – statements that fall short of the unrelenting hagiography that (a tiny minority of) Sanders supporters seem to demand.
Look: This is the third or fourth piece I’ve seen posted which claimed “THEY’RE SMEARING US!! THEYRE SLAMMING US!! I FEEL SMEARED!! BRING ME MY SMELLING SALTS!! ” when the link provided didn’t actually show a smear or a slam.
I know some people are really sensitive – but I think this kind of pearl-clutching does more harm than good. It’s like when the super-extreme feminists go overboard with calling out “microaggressions” that no one but them can see. It drives away the majority of regular people by tarring the whole movement as made up of thin-skinned crazies who feel insulted all the time. And it is very much like what Trump does: attacks the “Lying Media” to whip up his extreme fan base.

in some cases, blatant lies. The Times being a huge influence in a lot of people who don’t research a damn thing believe what they read. Personally I am having a difficult time believing what you just wrote as to your intentions and motivations.
Animals know more than we do.

which is a pretty strong accusation, but it definitely is negative towards Bernie, no surprise there with the Times, but no smear.
All governments lie to their citizen's, but only Americans believe theirs.

And they just can’t help venting their anxiety.
Out of his millions of supporters there are a few very rude people that keep the New York Times staff up at night, wondering how the Sanders movement can survive.

The authors of these 4 pieces on the same exact day are @davidbrockdc @mtomasky @sadydoyle & @smartypants60 — such a weird, obviously innocent, clearly-not-coordinated coincidence! https://t.co/IaTdmRiHI7

Behavioral sciences and propaganda have now become an art all to itself.
The New York Times knew exactly the ‘Bernie-image’ they were promoting in this story when they used that particular photo……….

Can’t get this new site to allow a direct reply to a post. Silly hamster.
Segami mentioned the Sanders photo the Times chose to use. The MSM has been doing this to Trump from the git-go. He is silly looking with the hair and fake tan, but the MSM uses his worst photos. Trunp supporting sites use ones that are more flattering. Just another way to massage and mold public perception.
Get ready for a slew of photos of Bernie that make him look worried, haggard, tired, old, etc. from the MSM.
