      Op-Ed from the Japan Times

“In his meeting last week with visiting U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman, Xie Feng, China’s vice foreign minister, accused the United States of treating China as an “imaginary enemy.”

“He and his government are dismayed that the Biden administration has not softened Donald Trump’s hard-line policy toward China and instead continues to hold it accountable for its misdeeds. The expectation that the U.S. would reverse course was folly.

U.S. policy reflects a new consensus about China and this consensus extends to other governments as well. China needs to recognize this new normal and adjust policy accordingly. It appears to be doubling down on belligerence instead.”

“There’s a new spirit abroad in the land. The old days of ‘grab and greed’ are on their way out. We’re beginning to think of what we owe the other fellow, not just what we’re compelled to give him. The time’s coming… when we shan’t be able to fill our bellies in comfort while others go hungry, sleep in warm beds while others shiver in the cold.... And God willing, we’ll live to see that day…” Basil Rathbone,"Sherlock Holmes Faces Death" (Universal 1943)

Yes, workers in the U.S. have been in a downward spiral for 40 years.  Manufacturing is a shell of its former self.

On the other hand, living conditions for most of China’s population have been improving during the same time.

Corporate America consists of totalitarian entities laser-focused on short-term greed.

Not too hard to do, after you’ve finally acknowledged that the “Great Leap Forward” and “Cultural Revolution” were total disasters.

I believe Biden is our most publicly dishonest President. In too many cases, he will say one thing and do the opposite.

Both of the Bushes had serious “dishonesty issues”, as did Donald Trump.

in stating what they intended to do – bomb, impose sanctions, close consulates and embassies, instigate regime change, destroy the environment.

Even if GWB didn’t, and probably still doesn’t, know the difference between “disassemble” and “dissemble.”

…if we listen to the ideological heirs of the right wing Japanese extremists who brought about the invasion and conquest of China and all the associated war crimes of WWII.

The Japan Times is in no way shape or form the same as Japanese media of the military-controlled propaganda era of pre-war Japan, just as Tokyo has greatly updated its sewer system since 1931! Perhaps you should examine the propaganda of the country you purport to support.
