The ongoing impacts of US meddling are coming to fruition all over the world. Even US ally Germany is moving ahead with the Nord Stream II gas pipeline with Russia, making a lie out of claims that Russia is a threat to Europe. Despite all of its schemes to dominate, nothing is working in this country’s favor on the diplomatic front.

The United States is still the most powerful country militarily, and can do great damage should it choose. It can sanction weaker nations, but that of course drives them closer to others. China and Russia supply Venezuela with medical equipment that would otherwise be impossible to obtain under US sanctions. China also purchases Venezuelan oil and along with Russia, supplies that country with Covid vaccines.

Biden is dealing with the results of decades of the United States behaving as if its brief unipolar moment would last forever. China will soon surpass the United States economically and it is using that power to its advantage. Its Belt and Road Initiative involves countries on every continent and provides opportunity where the western nations offer only debt and subjugation.

The United States believes its own hype and thinks that its relatively brief period of domination will last forever. Instead the new president is rightly viewed as a paper tiger after just a few months in office.

It all went downhill quickly with very public bad behavior on the part of the amateurish and arrogant Americans.

She is being too kind – I would throw ignorant into the mix as well…..

A brief trajectory of the US’ rise and fall

      • US/Britain set up and established the post WWII world order – a la Bretton Woods …………..very Anglo-centric with the UN as a fig-leaf for US-UK ‘policing’ operations that were the enforcement mechanisms of this world order
      • The Bretton Woods system of monetary management established the rules for commercial and financial relations among the United States, Canada, Western European countries, Australia, and Japan after the 1944 Bretton Woods Agreement. The Bretton Woods system was the first example of a fully negotiated monetary order intended to govern monetary relations among independent states.
      • In the aftermath of the collapse of the Soviet Union, it was triumphalism and the END OF HISTORY all over again.
      • The End of History and the Last Man (1992) is a book of political philosophy by American political scientist Francis Fukuyama which argues that with the ascendancy of Western liberal democracy —which occurred after the Cold War (1945–1991) and the dissolution of the Soviet Union (1991)—humanity has reached “not just… the passing of a particular period of post-war history, but the end of history as such: That is, the end-point of mankind’s ideological evolution and the universalization of…
      • Despite the late 1990’s wars in the former Yugoslavia, and the George W. Bush Administration’s withdrawal from the ABM Treaty, Vladimir Putin was the first head of state to offer Russian support to the US in the aftermath of 9/11 and he facilitated advisors and US/coalition utilization of military bases in Central Asia in support of coalition forces in Afghanistan.  The people of Russia and Vladimir Putin gave the US the Tear Drop Memorial – but the US ridiculed the initiative and insulted its sculptor……
      • In 2007 Putin gave a pivotal speech at the Munich Security Conference in which he foreign policy-wise departed from the US leadership………….

Wikkipedia link to Zurab Tsereteli, designer of the memorial.  From one whose knowledge of even arranging furniture in a room is in the negatives, I can say my knowledge of fine art (sculpture, paintings, literature, music (although I do like and know a little classical music), etc.) is even worse.  With that in mind, I can say that even I was impressed with the background of the sculptor/architect who designed this gift to the US entitled ‘To the Struggle Against World Terrorism’.

But yet, from reading about the sculpture’s history – it was relocated and nearly destroyed.  Further, according to the link about the structure that I provided in my first comment, ……from the Wikipedia reference

It was listed as one of the world’s ugliest statues by Foreign Policy magazine,[12] while The New Yorker said that it looked like “a giant tea biscuit” from a distance.[10] Pro Arts Jersey City called it “an insensitive, self-aggrandizing piece of pompousness by one of the world’s blatant self-promoters”.[4]

To me this story is emblematic of while the US is failing in its moral authority and as a great country.

It’s kind of funny that I just read the state government here in Oregon is going to require kids to pass civics to graduate. I don’t think anyone in washington or any of the oligarch even know what civics is any more. The people that did this are such tools it is really sad.  Russia as made several really nice gestures to the west and just insults back. We are a country sadly run by thugs

I would love to actually see diplomacy, rather than aggressive policies, from the US.

All the personally embarrassing behavior Trump did internationally doesn’t begin to compare to the Biden administrations idiotic and insulting actions, particularly towards Russia and China, in just 3 months.

All governments lie to their citizen's, but only Americans believe theirs.
