Mailed 3 priority mail packages Monday, supposedly were to get to their recipients Wednesday or Thursday, Nada on all 3. Of course I was an idiot and didn’t hang on to the recipts so can’t track them. But never had this happen in decades of using the service. Wonder if Trump has managed to degrade this agency as well.

mail delivery person still delivering at 10:00 PM, which is really outrageous, but shows devotion. I hope she doesn’t burn out.

I know a lot of flights have been cancelled this past week and wonder if they were scheduled for those? I sent a BD gift to my daughter in Flagstaff and it took 13 days to arrive. A mule train would have been faster…

Many standard rate FedEx and UPS parcels go to a “fulfilment” service, which often uses USPS to finalize the delivery. This is particularly true in rural areas where FedEx and UPS don’t have frequent routes. This means your letter or package has to compete with all that stuff from the private carriers. I don’t know how the shutdown is affecting USPS, but I know they hire seasonal mail handlers this time of year, and that may be disrupted.

They’ve been trying to privatize USPS for a long time. I’m not sure, but I think there was a deal made with Amazon that the USPS ships their stuff at almost a loss.
Please be kind to the carriers especially this time of year. They do their best with what they’ve got.

and the weather has definitely been a factor in delays.

And I know they try hard. I just wonder if Cheeto and his minions have done something to fundamentally screw the USPS up. Never had 3 packages, to 3 different places, different ends of the country, not show up on time. Never even one.

According to him, 4 employees quit to go back to work for Xi.
Leaving those left with 6 day work weeks and 50+ hrs a day.
The review, ordered by trump, costs are billed to the USPS.
The current government attempt to privatize the organization, and those past, fly in the face of our founding fathers and especially Franklin, whose desire for a postal system was the major factor in creating it.
The USPS is older than the USA and must be independent of political whims.

same postal person for more than a few weeks at a time anymore, and they often deliver packages to the wrong address, though not as often as FedEx, UPS, or Amazon.
