Stephanie Savell and 5W InfographicsThis map is the most comprehensive depiction in civilian circles of U.S. military and government antiterrorist actions overseas in the past two years. To develop it, my colleagues and I at Brown University’s Costs of War Project at the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs, along with Smithsonian magazine, combed through U.S. and foreign government sources, published and unpublished reports, military websites and geographical databases; we contacted foreign embassies in the U.S. and the military’s United States Africa Command; and we conducted interviews with journalists, academics and others. We found that, contrary to what most Americans believe, the war on terror is not winding down—it has spread to more than 40 percent of the world’s countries. The war isn’t being waged by the military alone, which has spent $1.9 trillion fighting terrorism since 2001. The State Department has spent $127 billion in the last 17 years to train police, military and border patrol agents in many countries and to develop antiterrorism education programs, among other activities.

I didn’t see Flint, MI on the map. The MIC recently held unannounced war games in Flint.
Coming to a neighborhood near you.
That map pretty much tells us why this country has gone to hell.

How often are our military the actual terrorists in the foreign areas we invade?
Why is it, the more we “fight terrorism” the more terrorists we make? We must be doing something wrong here.
Yet we keep expanding our so-called war on terrorism, with the excuse of fighting terrorism. And around and around we go.We are an arrogant species, believing our fantasy based "facts" are better than the other person's fake facts.
If you are wrong, it will be because you are not cynical enough.
Both major political parties are special interest groups enabling each other for power and money, at the expense of the people they no longer properly serve…

Considering our track record for the last 2 decades, shouldn’t a more realistic discription be
WE FORGE TERRORISM.
Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.

The Imperial Plutocratic States push their continual war for profit. Other countries agree, conflict creates cash!
