Thomas Frank: How the Democrats could win again, if they wanted

How the Democrats could win again, if they wanted

    by Thomas Frank

    November 29, 2016

What makes 2016 a disaster for Democrats is not merely the party’s epic wipeout in Washington and the state capitals, but that the contest was fought out on a terrain that should have been favorable to them. This was an election about social class –about class-based grievances – and yet the Party of the People blew it. How that happened is the question of the year, just as it has been the question of other disastrous election years before. And just like before, I suspect the Democrats will find all manner of convenient reasons to take no corrective action.

    1. If they wanted …

“If the Democratic Party would fight as hard for the Working Class as the Republican Party fights for the Ruling Class, the Republicans would be a powerless minority party within a few election cycles.
The Democratic Party knows this, the Republican Party knows this, the Ruling Class knows this- and they’ve been astonishingly successful at making sure the Working Class never learns this.
The status quo was rolling along just fine, until Bernie Sanders came along and mucked it up with his crazy ideas about democracy, equality and justice.” ~ Anonymous

      2. they have the IMAGERY of a people's party, but Sanders' run wasn't just

revealing to the voters that it was an illusion, it was teaching voters how to make political decisions on their own

    3. " the Party of the People blew it. How that happened "

The party of the ppl was/is actually the party for corporations, wall street and big banks all inscribed with a BIG ‘C’ for corruption ( for Billary Inc).  This time enough ppl, thanks to Bernie and that other guy with weird hair, took notice.

    6. Apparently corrective actions are now being

Undertaken. Not so much by the Democratic party leaders, but by “whomever it is behind our media.”

Which is probably players like Soros, and of course the CIA. Why else would the recent Jan 21st protests be fully covered on our TV stations? Including stations like San Francisco’s KRON 4, which previously would not even tell viewers what a protest is about.

But any time anyone has a protest, it will be televised. Until Trump is gone and Pence is in his place.

    7. Hasn't been the party of the people for at least 30 years, and probably more.

Party of wall street v party of new oil

    Yankees v. cowboys

    east v west coast
