He says he still considers Jimmy a “friend”. He just can’t support the road he’s going down with this Boogaloo cult stuff.

He thinks all people should be friends and allies if they resent authority, dislike the status quo, distrust politicians, feel alienated or betrayed, etc. The thing is, we might feel the same way about something for different reasons. I hate Obama because he droned a bunch of people and failed to close GITMO. You hate Obama because he’s black. We both hate Obama, but for different reasons, and those reasons are so fundamentally different that it’s likely we could never be friends. See how that works, Jimmy? It’s not that hard.

there are too few voices critiquing establishment elites of any stripe.

      @satan

What road? He interviewed one guy! He never said he was joining the Boogaloo boys.

I am totally confused about all this hate for Jimmy Dore for talking with this guy.

Jimmy is raising the possibility that this apparent duck does not quack like a duck. He flocks with the ducks, swims with the ducks, and carries an AR-15 like the ducks, and does many other duck-like things, but he appears on the Jimmy Dore Show and coos like a dove. What does this mean? Jimmy suggests it means ducks and doves should be friends, but others are not so sure.

      Leave Jimmy Dore Alone!!!

But I do think we should give him a good listen because everything should be questioned. Bernie Sanders tried to explain that the issues are the same, regardless of what “side” you come from. There are extremists at either side.

We should question. I already know that I am another you.

Hell, no... I'm not giving up...

If Rachel Maddow had a Boogaloo on and gave him a softball interview her career would be over.

It isn’t “cancel culture” to criticize someone. Also people watch what they like and don’t watch people they don’t like. I never watch Fox News for example.

That  makes certain things very clear.@satan: The left, the left ,the left!

That is idiotic when the left is powerless and supports the so-called progressives,

who are sucked into the party apparatus as soon as they get in. a) the US has no

true and powerful left. That is an illusion. Even FDR was fighting the real left.

      b) Ignoring half of the country on behalf of an ideology  is nuts. The people that

I saw on 1/6 were certainly not the ones, who could afford a trip to DC. Thus

money must have been involved. We will always be told that it came from the

Trump supporters, but how do we know that it did not come from the CIA? I

for one, remember the infiltrations of anti war demonstrations by all kind of

“government” groups. The NSA knows everything about us, as Snowden showed.

      c) Use your critical thinking now, please. Who profited  from 1/6? Who was

responsible for the Capitol’s protection, yet was not there? It took just one shot

to get most of these marauders to retreat. Why?

      d) Jimmy points out again and again that half of the country  are not all idiots,

which may be hard for the “leftists” to swallow, because they are more than

married to their ideology. People, left, right, green or red suffer all over this country.

Most of them just want a somewhat decent life. Some of them will rebel, like BLM or

anti-war groups, but a lot are driven to the right. So, if we don’t listen to their

grievances or even actions, they won’t listen to ours either. And this would be a

total loss for progressives; we have to listen and give them a chance to voice

their complaints. Only after having done that can we hope for their understanding

of our side. Fighting each other will only lead to a loss of both sides against  the

dominating elitist rule of the military and the corporations.

I like your good sense, @sadoldgirl.  I am sad and old, too, and will listen to others to understand them.  Let’s not rush to judge or condemn everyone as seems to be some kind of proclivity lately.

Thank you @sadoldgirl , we may be old and sad but we have life experience. I’m old and sad and angry….LOL

Thank you. All Dore is doing is opening the door(pun intended) to listen and engage with one person, and by implication more who think as that young man does, but he clearly crossed a line with the boutique left. We cannot even consider talking to people who have guns and who look and sound like that guy.

My own stepson, in his mid-20s, is going through something of a libertarian/anarchist phase. He and his friends have absolutely no trust in any level of government. That’s not their fault. That’s their lifelong experience with government shaping their views. He has no guns, though some of his friends do, and none of them have participated in any demonstrations to my knowledge, but they aren’t all that far from the sentiments expressed by the guy Dore interviewed.

I’m not going to write them all off just because someone like Mike Figueroda, who told us all to Vote Blue No Matter Who and still believes in the Squad, gets his panties in a twist.

      There are only 10,000 members.

      https://www.adl.org/boogaloo

There are 150 million voters and there are also a lot of non-voters.

BLM actually got housing for the homeless done.

What has the Boogaloo done besides killing cops & plotting to kidnap Governors?

      @jonlp:

You are upset to an unbelievable degree about the interview

given by  Jimmy Dore to one person. You also don’t see or don’t

want to see that BLM is also a serving an identity policy. Don’t

get me wrong, as I live in a very diverse neighborhood,  I certainly

support them, but also see it as only one problem. You seem to make it

into the main problem. Diversity though has many layers, which you

don’t want to see due to possibly  preferred ideologies.
