President Donald Trump once again attacked someone who is cooperating with the House impeachment inquiry. On Sunday, Trump set his sights on Jennifer Williams, labeling one of Vice President Mike Pence’s top national security aides as a “Never Trumper” after she characterized his July call with Ukraine as “unusual and inappropriate.” Williams is set to appear before the House Intelligence Committee on Tuesday but her earlier, closed-door testimony was released over the weekend.

Trump tweeted Sunday that Williams (“whoever that is,” he said) should read the transcripts of both his calls with President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine, referring to the now-infamous July 25 call as well as the April 21 call. The White House released a summary of the April 21 call on Friday. “Then she should meet with the other Never Trumpers, who I don’t know & mostly never even heard of, & work out a better presidential attack!” Trump added.

uring her testimony, Williams said that Trump’s “unusual and inappropriate” push to get Ukraine to open up an investigation into a political rival “shed some light on possible other motivations” for the president’s order to withhold military aid. “I found the specific references to be — to be more specific to the president in nature, to his personal political agenda, as opposed to a broader … foreign policy objective of the United States,” Williams said.

The president’s line of attack against WIlliams is hardly original. Trump also labeled William Taylor, the top U.S. diplomat in Ukraine, and State Department official George Kent as “Never Trumpers” after they testified in the impeachment inquiry. That was also a label that Trump lobbed on Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, the top Ukraine expert on the National Security Council. On Sunday, Trump leveled that attack on a career foreign service officer, providing no proof that she ever opposed the president. Pence’s office declined to defend Williams, with the vice president’s press secretary only saying that “Jennifer is a State Department employee.” Even if technically correct that seems to ignore the fact that Williams is “detailed to the Vice President’s office,” CNN’s Jeremy Diamond explained in a tweet. “She is the Vice President’s special adviser on Europe & Russia.”

Y’know, if I got personally and publicly branded a “Never Trumper” by Trump the doofus himself, the birther, America’s shame, I’d try to get a signature so I could get it framed so in a few generations my grandchildren could put it on the ebay and make 100 bazillion dollars, enough to maybe buy a cabin in the hills.

I’m a flat out proud to be a Never Trumper.

I haven’t had a TV in my home for around 45 years, and have only watched TV in bits and snatches over the the past 45 years, so I never really new much about Trump before he ran for President. The first time I ever saw Trump on video, I happened to be in another person’s residence, and the TV was on, tuned to a show called “The Apprentice” I think it was called.  I was passing through the room, and stopped for a second to look at the TV.  There was Trump, angry bossman look on his face, gleefully yelling at some poor contestant or (whatever the person was)

      “YOU’RE FIRED!!!111!!!”

I was revolted, and thought to myself,  “Ewwww, what a creepy fucking asshole! OMG, Ick!!!”

And walked away.  This was maybe back in 2006, can’t remember exactly.

When Trump was running for POTUS, during the 2016 campaign, I learned more about Trump’s past, and found that my first impression of him was correct, that he was a spoiled rich brat bully, a greedy, ruthless, dishonest, heartless, corrupt fascist businessman, and came to the conclusion that he was probably a certifiable sociopath.

The first almost three years of his presidency has changed my estimation of Trump.  I’m more inclined to see him as somewhere between a certifiable sociopath and a dangerous psychopath now.  I honestly believe that if I was in the same room with him, and didn’t know he was there, his evil energy would literally make me nauseous.

In my worldview, being a Never Trumper is a sign that a person has at least a reasonably decent code of ethics and moral character, and some sense of empathy, and at minimum has some sincere compassion for their fellow human beings.

Trump is so lacking in self awareness that he believes he is castigating, and insulting, someone when he tries to bully them by calling them a Never Trumper.  When Trump calls someone a Never Trumper, he is, in reality, giving them a set in stone compliment of the highest order.

      Bernie/Tulsi 2020….

      Never Trump.

“A lie doesn't become truth, wrong doesn't become right, and evil doesn't become good, just because it's accepted by a majority.” ~ Booker T. Washington

The truth is, there’s no such thing as being “anti-Fascist.” Either you are a decent human being with a conscience, or you are a fascist.

“ANYONE” who stands up to Trump must know they will be attacked  as a ‘Never Trump’er, a ‘Deep State’ operative, a traitor or – worst of all – a LOSER with bad ratings.

Donald is nothing if not predictable.

They are called 'human' rights not "if politicians do not feel threatened" rights. Many politicians see national sovereignty/security as more important because they protect their power and wealth. Human rights often do just the opposite.

National issues (slavery/racism, income inequality, pandemics and pathetic health care, weak unions) are not solved with more states' rights. Global problems (climate change, migration, trade, war, pandemics) are not resolved with more national sovereignty.

Pence is a Neocon of the Republican Party, so his aide is also likely to be a neocon.

heard something on the news in passing, that trump wouldn’t let pence attend some ceremony he was scheduled to attend.  removed permission.  i did’t get the details but wondered as i walked by if that was some kind of retribution for the problem with pence’s aide, i.e. trump saw pence as disloyal now.
