It’s a “well, duh.” Can we finally stop with all the fear-mongering about civil war?!

      From :

President Trump on Thursday said he would leave the White House on Jan. 20 if the Electoral College declares President-elect Joe Biden the winner of the election, but indicated he was not prepared to concede defeat.

“Certainly I will. And you know that,” said Trump when asked if he would leave the White House if the Electoral College voted for Biden.

He added, “If they do, they made a mistake.”

“It’s going to be a very hard thing to concede,” Trump told reporters during a press call on Thursday.

Hopefully we won’t need more posts on the 2020 Presidential election after this!

      Hi jbnw,

If that happens, we will see an endless stream of corruption articles by the right. This would be similar to the corruption charges leveled at the “pussy hat” brunch crowd by progressives in 2016 and 2020.

The allegations will never end since the taint of corruption has already been setup by Trump’s lawsuits. This sets the stage for an endless excuse much the same way corporate democrats blamed Russia for HRC’s failure.

Sneak away quietly. Speculation is that he will skip the inauguration.

The hilariously illogical part – to me – this was a fear-mongering campaign “issue”, designed to deflect attention away from the fact that Biden was not running on any issues that would help people, because then he would have to back away from them, bad optics for him and the next Vichy Dem.   But how would voting for Biden help with this?  Logic says vote for Trump so there does not have to be a “coup”.  Duh.  Maybe this was just designed to cover for increased surveillance and militarizing the police….oh, noes, Biden would never want that!

Will he skip Biden’s inauguration? I personally don’t care, but I can see him either sullenly attending or boycotting it altogether, but he can launch his 2024 presidential campaign by claiming the election was stolen or rigged or whatever, and promising to be back, bigger, louder, and oranger than ever!

There will be no coup. There never was any planning for any real coup unless the election was stealable in just one state like in 2000. No there there whatsoever. The World Socialist Web Site should be ashamed of itself for promoting that fearmongering nonsense, but there’s not a glimmer of contrition.
