Seems he would like to let the virus spread.  He could then cancel the 2020 November General Election.

We need to stop speculating things like that, such as will Trump pardon himself? What about, can Trump’s successor unpardon Trump since it requires two people?

    A few things…

This virus is likely to be with us for years to come. That’s reality. A vaccine won’t be here for 12-18 months. It will then take awhile to manufacture it and give it to everyone and for it to actually become effective. All of our mitigation strategies are to “SLOW THE SPREAD.” We are not trying to stop it because you just realistically can’t at this point. “Flattening the curve” means we have slowed the spread to the point that our healthcare system can keep up with the number of infections. That’s our goal right now. We can’t keep the economy closed for 2 years. So you you have to eventually open things back up. And that will happen when the curve is flat.

Second, the election is not going to be canceled. There WILL be an election in November. Now, perhaps the virus (or the fear of it) will effect turnout numbers in certain areas. That’s a real possibility, but it’s too soon to speculate on how much or where. Some have suggested states need to all move to a mail ballot system. But, that would require a lot of states to change their laws quickly (like right now) and put in new systems. And that’s not going to be easy to do at the last minute like this.
