Only 🇺🇸 & POTUS can stop the completion of NordStream2. It’s a powerful weapon given to Russia. The launch of this pipeline will deprive Ukraine of the funds needed to reinforce its army, which today protects the entire Europe. Stressed this in a dialogue with USSenate members

I find this disturbing when Zelensky’s first thought is for funds for the military, and it’s not for the costs for heating for his citizens. My friend in central Ukraine has already heard news reports to expect it.

Well – maybe I’ll hear more soon – I will be in Ukraine starting next week.

Our Media link is still down, but here are a few from the internet:

Itaka – Black Sea beach resort

Opera house (which my Russian conductor friend says is the most beautiful in the world)

Potemkin steps (a former Trivia question)

        Passage (elegant shopping center)

As for Zelensky, just implement the Minsk accords and let Russian speakers have their native language back . . .

That’s funny, right there. The Italians could take the Ukrainian army out. Don’t even get me started on what the Germans or the French could do to them. Zelensky, thou art full of shite.

According to Mercouris Zelinski was given privately a severe

rebuke from Blinken and Nuland. If so, he now tries to appeal

to the Senate instead. Congress detests Putin and accuses him

of everything under the sun, but does not want a war with

      Russia.

Nuland surprises me – she was on Maidan Square during 2014. The war in eastern Ukraine still continues, but is virtually uncovered.

And I suspect Russian will still be the language used in Odessa, though it’s no longer an official language, from https://on.rt.com/apkn :

A district court in the Ukrainian city of Odessa has opted to remove Russian as an official regional language. The move comes despite the fact Russian is the main spoken tongue in the famous city, founded by Catherine the Great.

Of course, that was in the 18th century, but Odessa historically wasn’t a Ukrainian city. Until the Nazis invaded in the 1940s, Russian Jews comprised the main ethnic group. Even in 2001, amazingly the last time Ukraine conducted a census, almost 30% of locals still identified as Russian.

According to a 2015 study by the US State Department-funded International Republican Institute, 78 percent of Odessan homes use Russian as the primary tongue, with Ukrainian at just six percent.
