    Update on JPR 3.0

I have some bad news (or good news from a different point of view) …

During the process of testing, @sofarfromheaven, @landofenchantment, and I discovered Vbulletin no longer offers a Threaded Mode view or Indented Replies. We have decided Vbulletin is not the platform for us.

We have an option we’re looking at, but we won’t hear back from them until Monday (Oct. 8)

The option we’re looking at does offer a migrate service, so all of JPR’s current data would be able to migrate.

We’re still hoping to have something new by the end of the month.

      1. My wife's a web developer. I feel your pain. :(

      2. We know you are working hard on this. The evidence is finding what does work

and what does not, in this case, for the members. It seem a shame the time invested put you back to the beginning.

      3. Do whatcha gotta do, guys. No worries.

I used to be Navarth at DU. I left DU when it became polluted with Hillary pushers. The party bosses fucked us, and Bernie, just like they did with Henry Wallace in 1944.

      4. That won't really effect the new JPR WWF Group you promised…..

      …so no worries!

        11. I'm embarrassed to ask but:

When you say WWF, do you mean:

WWF – Endangered Species Conservation | World Wildlife Fund

        OR:
WWF (WWE) Wrestlefest, 1988 – Hulk Hogan vs. André the Giant

          12. Guess.

He’s fixated on the World Wrestling Federation or whatever the hell it is.

He’s enamored of the fact they gave Lincoln some “prestigious” thing because he wrestled in college back when they actually wrestled.

Seriously. We ARE talking about Jan, right?

            21. I recently discovered the popularity of wrestling in Leftist circles

I had no idea it was a Thing, but apparently there are Facebook groups, subreddits, etc., all devoted to talking about politics from a Leftist perspective and the lens of professional wrestling (and talking about wrestling through a Leftist political lens). Weird, huh?

I thought it was crazy until one of them mentioned that Trump got his reality TV start in professional wrestling and is the best “heel” in political show business.

              22. It IS crazy.

              The whole idea.

              Fits Jan to a tee.

        16. Have you tried different browsers?

I’m on Vivaldi, even since that one day when the title-only issue started. I deleted cookies and cache, didn’t bother with updating java, and it worked again.

I like Vivaldi; it’s a good browser, a spin-off from New Opera, with much of the functionality of Old Opera :)

      9. Is it possible that JPR 2.0 function problems are limited to those with…

…an older Mac OS and an older Chrome browser?  I have both; I run into problems with JPR 2.0 using Chrome but I find I have no problems using the Firefox browser instead (on an older Mac).

        10. Same with me, but I use Firefox and Windows…

Firefox Browser and “Windows 7 Pro.”  Older  (8 years and 12 years old) PC and Laptop.  Use “SeaMonkey” (based on old Netscape Navigator) to compose posts and to save You Tube and PNG attachments and don’t have any problems.

The worst problem I’ve had is with Damned “Captcha” asking me if I’m a Bot and have to go through sometimes 8 to 10 verify windows identifying cars, trucks, buses, mountains and crosswalks, and sometimes JPR being slow to load.

Maybe there are some tweaks that the current system can offer that can help those who are having problems.  I know some would like a more modernized looking Forum, and I can understand that, but SV seems to carry on by tweaking the same format that we have been using here and maybe waiting a bit to work out bugs in other systems would be to our advantage later on.

Whatever happens, thanks for alerting us!

          13. I lost my JPR text box a while back. I changed to Vivaldi browser and I have

the text box again.  I was using Windows 10 with Firefox browser.

            28. I lost box on pc. Just got new phone. Lost box there too now

Think of all the “moderates” who, throughout history, have failed to oppose state-sanctioned aggression, oppression, and abuse, from slavery to child labor, while maligning those who call for change as dangerous and misguided, violent radicals. And yet, in retrospect, when a renewed social contract is established as the new normal, the unlawful actions that brought about these societal shifts are turned into mythical tales of nationalistic heroism and dates for kids to memorize at school.

      14. Well, this is kind of weird to hear about now.

I thought that Vbulletin forums did have a thread mode view.
I’ve posted on several different types of platforms over the last 2 decades and I thought that one of them was a Vbulletin forum, but I may be wrong.

        18. Older versions of Vbulletin have it.

        The newest version does not.

        27. And I stopped having problems when I switched to Opera, but others have done

the same and that didn’t work for them. OTOH, I can’t use Google Chrome here, but others can. Go figure.

      29. I found a browser that works! Finally.

I thought I’d give a heads up in case others want to download it.

      Puffin browser.

Chrome won’t work, Firefox won’t work and Opera didn’t work. Puffin does! And works great…fast and responsive. I downloaded it on my phone.

Hope it works for others! :hi: Good luck!
