Update on the condition my condition is in

YUUGE thank you to grasswire for posting this OP on the 7th on my behalf, asking for prayers & good vibe support ..  https://jackpineradicals.com/boards/topic/prayer-request-from-our-friend-99th-monkey/

I tend to get all embarrassed when it’s so “all about me”, but I guess there’s a time & place for everything.

Update: Doctors are cautiously optimistic .. my heart-valve scan yesterday showed my valve to be still clean & clear. woot.   So we are going for 6-weeks of IV-antibiotics at a yet-to-be-determined nursing home/rahab canter. This move to the Nursing Home should be sometime soon, mid-to-late this next week.

No one seems quite sure still of where/how the infection is originating from, which is disconcerting .. but so far I am not being required get another valve replacement, so I’m very happy and relieved about that.

BIG thanks to everyone for all the support & prayers, from so many perspectives.  It is very humbling yet tremendously uplifting to feel your support coming from so many different places as well.

Cheers to you all, and keep up the great work with JPR until I return to a more active role again.

I miss seeing all your awesome OPs and posts, but I do come lurk sometimes and catch them, in between nurses, IVs , pokes & prods, “vitals”, meals, etc. and when I’m not getting a good rest. lol.

      24. Sorry you are ailing. Here's hoping you are on the road to

complete recovery. Every time I have gotten a stubborn flu, pneumonia or infection I have found strong doses of Echinacea (1,000 mg or more a day) to be helpful. What it does is boost your immune system. It takes a week or two to kick in depending on how deep your infection has set in but it’s very effective I have found. Like penicillin, you need to continue taking it for a week more even though you don’t have any more symptoms. I’m not trying to dispense medical advice but since it is an herb, it can’t hurt.

      41. That's why I asked the other day…

If you will be on a continuous antibiotics after a nasty infection that requires a hospitalization. You said no. The next day, you find out you’ll have to be on it! My mom had a very bad staph infection from a repair of a deviated septum, that had her hospitalized, and on antibiotics for about 6-8 weeks. My dad was able to do the maintenance and infusion at home, with a travelling nurse coming to check on her once or twice a day. Eventually she recovered and  my mom was able to reciprocate and took care of my dad up to his last day on earth.

        43. Yep. 6 weeks, and it sounds like an eternity.

but your story re your Mom & Dad helps me to put it in better perspective.

I don’t know what i was thinking when I said “no”, except to say that one of the symptoms of bad infection, is confusion & disorientation; and I am no exception.

Which has been humorous at times, because I know what year it is and who the president is, but often I can’t remember which doctor said what, or what tests or shots I have or have not had, and they seem to expect me (the confused one) to know that stuff, and not the “medical professionals” whose job it is to know such details.

      53. Glad to hear nothing serious is confirmed by your tests!!!

I can identify with that sentiment, having gone through many (and at times expensive when I’m not well off now), tests (colonoscopies, endoscopies, etc.) that all have shown minimal problems which I’m thankful for.

Still hoping I can find out what is at the root of chronic headaches that get in the way of life that I still live with every day that remains unexplained.  Even if they aren’t that severe, they are troubling and keeping me from getting back to work, keeping up with the necessities of life, etc.  It sounds like you can identify with that where you still are troubled with what is causing your conditions too.  Hope we can both get answers in the coming months for those questions, so that we can move on more permanently back to a good life.

Hoping a long overdue deep dental cleaning that I will finally be able to get done finally this coming month with some insurance coverage help might help with this.

        56. Interesting you mention dental work

Since that is precisely where our Trial & error, hit-and-miss diagnostic process is now pointing.

Which of course is the toughest procedure by far to get paid-for by insurance.

          57. I just had to switch my ACA dental insurance…

… from an in network provider (Delta) for my dentist to an out of network insurance carrier (PacificSource), since the out of network carrier would arguably give me the same rates of percentages (though I wonder if the dentist will be able to charge higher prices out of network) but has a six month waiting period instead of a year waiting period to cover deep cleaning procedures.  Didn’t want to wait until next March and do it now in September instead.  These insurance games are what so many Americans have to deal with now.

WE REALLY NEED SINGLE PAYER COVERAGE and say “F*CK YOU!” to the PARA$ITE called “health insurance” that keeps so many of us broke now to make their CEOs in to bigger billionaires with their CRIMINAL theft practices that they’ve paid to make legal.

      63. Just wanted to let you know you are still in my thoughts and prayers

“The first revolution is when you change your mind about how you look at things, and see there might be another way to look at it that you have not been shown. What you see later on is the results of that, but that revolution, that change that takes place will not be televised.” -Gil Scott-Heron

        64. Hello NJOCK, Thank you for your continued good vibes & prayers

Am still in holding pattern at same hospital, but closing-in hopefully on a correct diagnosis, to ID the source of the infection ..  got another CT scan today .. no bad news yet, which is the good news.

Thanks again my friend for the support
