US Weather Info Sites
I’m making this thread to list the sites I like for weather data. Almost all are government websites, because I feel the NWS and NOAA do a better job overall than the corporate sites. If you like the latter, that’s fine, but the only corporate site I use is Weather Underground, and it’s aggravating at times for the lack of info.
Harris County Flood Warning System
This is a good page for seeing the rainfall totals and flood stages.
Advanced Hydrological Prediction Service (NWS)
(Use this to confirm reports of “rivers” out of their banks) (mostly bayous and creeks here)
Detailed / Scientific
USGS – Water resources of the United States
Tropical Tidbits (privately owned and operated) (not corporate)
NCAR – National Center for Atmospheric Research
