I think I mentioned my cousin’s boyfriend because he refused to get vaccinated while he visited her as she was recovering from serious surgery. Now he’s bumped up against what many people feared, the possibility that they would be excluded or ostracized in some way if they refused the vax.  He likes to make grand gestures, so he bought concert tickets for a whole bunch of family members, but he can’t attend because the venue is requiring proof of vaccination. It appears some places, particularly where crowds gather, are hanging onto their vax requirements for a while. The relatives are ambivalent because they appreciate the grand gesture, but they’re upset that the boyfriend would not get vaxxed.

My wife only got the vax last year so she could go to a concert with her daughter. Your cousin’s boyfriend has a point, though, especially if he has been infected with Covid, which he probably has. That would mean he has natural immunity, which is better than vaxxed immunity, and therefore there is no medical reason for denying him entry to a concert.

It’s an authoritarian reason, and nothing else.

But I have no details about the concert, location, type of music, etc.

@mrmickeysmom may know. Philadelphia reinstated a mask mandate and then backed off within a week. As far as I know, in Ohio all government mandates are completely gone. There are still a few restaurants and theaters and such that require them, probably because of their clientele, but that’s just a guess.

@ohiobarbarian The Port Authority says you must mask on the bus, but every place in Allegheny County and East of here, Westmoreland county is pretty much back to ordinary business, including entertainment venues.

It’s 83F today, and our evil Christian Republican neighbor just gave us an old Weber propane grill, as his daughter had bought him a new one. So that’s where I’m headed later.
