Posting to the Late Breaking News area, or trying to, in case you haven’t seen this (from Reuters, well that’s usually considered mainstream, an hour ago):
U.S. federal appeals court freezes Biden’s vaccine rule for companies (msn.com)
The snail starts its journey through the legal system. But (short editorial) it’s a good start.

I already survived Covid in 2019. There’s no reason why I should have to be vaccinated.
It will be two years on December 8, and I haven’t been sick with a cold or flu BECAUSE I STILL WEAR A MASK IN PUBLIC!

An injunction is near certainty. Over 2 dozen states have filed suit, along with many organizations. An injunction out of the 11th circuit is also likely coming.
Court says, “Because the petitions give cause to believe there are grave statutory and constitutional issues with the Mandate, the Mandate is hereby stayed pending further action by this court,”
This is likely going to end up in the Supreme Court at some point. I highly doubt that January 4th deadline is happening. Obviously Biden can request SCOTUS to take it on an expedited review. SCOTUS of course is under no obligation to take it.
Note also they have focused the lawsuits in the 5th, 6th, 8th, and 11th circuits. These circuits are overseen by Justices Alito, Thomas, and Kavanaugh. If you remember, Alito has previously spoken out publicly criticizing the lengths the government has gone in regards to the pandemic. So Biden is unlikely to get a favorable opinion from him if an injunction is appealed to him.

This will be framed as an issue for the 10th amendment.
Just as the CDC did not have the power to stop evictions,
neither does OSHA have the power to dictate on a general
health level. OSHA has rarely succeeded in the courts anyway.

I couldn’t attend grade school without them.

I believe you are quite exactly correct!
America is not a country, it's just a business. (Brad Pitt, Killing Them Softly)
"Sometimes when I try to understand a person's motives, I play a little game. I assume the worst. What's the worst reason they could possibly have for saying what they say and doing what they do? Then I ask myself, 'How well does that reason explain what they say and what they do?'" Baelish

Those words need re-definition too along with “vaccine” which has been redefined on the CDC or FDA site, as well as in Merriam-Webster, I think, since the beginning of 2021.
Our vax mandate spokespeople including J’Biden like to smile and give ultra-simplified lying messages like “it’s safe and effective. And it’s free.” Well, it’s not safe and effective under the old standards, like polio vaccine which also really was a vaccine.
I think actually there were a series of polio vaccines with some of the early efforts being withdrawn, but that’s a longer story.
Kind of a cliche by now but: If these vax-like things really were gaining the reputation of being safe and effective, there’d be no need for any creepy kind of mass coercion. Of course They blame the “vax hesitancy” on “vax misinformation” because there could be no other reason for vax-fright.
