Brianne Pfannenstiel, Des Moines Register Published 4:21 p.m. CT Dec. 10, 2019
Just a few minutes into Andrew Yang’s meeting with the Des Moines Register’s editorial board Tuesday, his campaign manager motioned for his attention, holding a piece of paper above his head with a hastily scrawled message:
“4%! We’re in!”
With just days left until this week’s deadline, Yang secured the final poll he needed to qualify for the Democratic presidential debate in Los Angeles later this month. Campaign manager Zach Graumann wasted no time in letting his candidate know.
Yang will join six others who have already qualified, including former vice president Joe Biden; South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg; U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota; U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont; businessman Tom Steyer; and U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts….

It is a mystery how Amy Klobuchar and Tom Steyer made it in the polls. What happened to Michael Bloomberg?

I reject Yang. He offers NOTHING of significance and needs to be kicked out.
Bernie remains the One.

Yang seems like a smart, interesting, likable guy with a refreshing sense of humor.
But I would not vote for him.
He opposes M4A and supports yet another version of the doomed-from-the-start “public option” instead.
Meanwhile, his signature issue, “The Freedom Dividend,” is too easily distorted by libertarians and those on the Right who want to use Universal Basic Income (an admirable idea if implemented correctly) as an excuse to further destroy the social safety net.

When libertarian progressives start to think UBI a step or two further, they realize that it’s the way to destroy Federal Reserve tyranny and wage slavery to banksters. Way to rethink money and whole financial system, by creating money directly as UBI, as mutual gift.
Dems and Rebs don’t need the UBI excuse to cut food coupons etc., they are doing that already. Universal programs are much more harder to cut than selective crumbs to poor. That’s also the whole idea behind single payer health care, universality.
Aloha!

How the Hell is Steyer qualifying? I haven’t heard of him having any supporters, let alone donors (apart from himself)
I don’t even hate Steyer. I’d probably consider voting for him before I would any Turd Way candidate, but I don’t see how he’s meeting these admittedly ridiculous criteria for debate participation.

Didnt he pull a Bloomberg and put shitloads of money into the ads?
Ineffective, and Steyer, Yang and Kloubacher needs to be removed from the December debates.
