but rather a repudiation of the tried and true neoliberal policies of the Democrats. They thought
they’d win a BIG victory because Trump is rude and has mishandled the pandemic. Most people
looked at their usual machinations in the primaries and resolved right then not to reward the Democratic
party for its “caught with its hand in the cookie jar” approach to forcing its candidate down our collective throats.
If and it’s still a very large IF Biden squeaks out a win what are we facing? McConnell at the helm of government
dictating precisely what will never reach the floor: Checks, Healthcare, Jobs… Forget ’em! Nothing will be done.
Nothing will be done.

What I think we saw was a severely divided country, 1/2 who worship the ground Trump walks on, and 1/2 who hate his guts and would vote for a fire hydrant if that were the only choice. It is all about Trump, Biden offers nothing in addition.

Watching Joe Biden was like watching your lawn turn from green to brown. Kamala Harris is even worse. Also having a POC as your running mate is not going to get you votes. As a matter of fact, you may lose votes.
I applaud Wisconsin for carefully counting the votes. If this election goes to the courts, no matter who wins, this country will become ungovernable.
If you cannot dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit WC Fields

one way or another, people will have to put pressure on leaders to meet their needs
or get together to meet their own needs since the ptb are more interested in shoring up their own power and that of their financial enablers

We’re screwed either way. Yes, this is not a repudiation of Trump, and as I keep saying the only reason Biden has been competitive is because of the bungling of Covid, not that Hillary would have done much better.
In this instance, it is the ones who stayed home last time that came in to vote Trump out. The ones who voted for Trump last time, most likely voted for him once more this time.
So, it looks like the Democrat’s path to victory is to ensure that the situation is so dismal that people just end up voting for them. Since they obviously were offering nothing. That’s plain sad and disgusting.

I’m so depressed. My friend from Taiwan tells me to cheer up, things will get better, but her country seems to be saner than mine at the moment.
“There’s a new spirit abroad in the land. The old days of ‘grab and greed’ are on their way out. We’re beginning to think of what we owe the other fellow, not just what we’re compelled to give him. The time’s coming… when we shan’t be able to fill our bellies in comfort while others go hungry, sleep in warm beds while others shiver in the cold.... And God willing, we’ll live to see that day…” Basil Rathbone,"Sherlock Holmes Faces Death" (Universal 1943)

Assuming it is Biden, it feels like we just re-elected George W. Bush for a third term. Wall Street happy, PNAC happy, Trump hating corporate media happy, and Vichy dems happy.

Not only that but the GOP is actually unexpectedly gaining in the House right now. It’s quite conceivable that the Dem majority will be down to single digits.
We can kiss the House good-bye in the midterms. If Biden is president, there is no way in hell Democrats hold the House in 2022. We are going to have a very divided government for the foreseeable future. The “blue wave” wasn’t strong enough in 2018 and it never materialized this year.
That’s just one the frustrating things about our political cycles in this country. There is timing involved. This cycle is fucked before it even starts.

The media’s behavior was outrageous. Biden and dnc treatment of latinx coalition because they supported AOC and bernie sanders came home to roost.

That’s well known to anyone who has eyes and has a thinking brain. The media is toast. Polling is toast. The why they’ve covered this election going all the way back to the Dem primaries is a total disgrace. Journalism being viewed as a respected profession with integrity and credibility is in serious jeopardy. The news is now highly politicized. It’s corporate-controlled. It’s becoming more and more corporate-censored.
And the election night coverage is a joke. Look how they are calling states and now uncalling them and some networks are calling and others aren’t. What the hell. You turn on one channel and it’s one electoral count, and then another channel has a totally different count. What a clusterf***. And we wonder why everyone is questioning our election integrity?

I think the Dems will have Mitch right where they want him. He’ll be a great excuse why they can’t get anything done. With a Democratic Senate, they might feel some pressure to do something for ordinary people. Then again, Obama had a Democratic Congress for two years and they did jack shit, so there’s a precedent. This way they don’t have to. Either way, they don’t want to.
