Blumenthal and Dore say Bernie was about to drop out and endorse Joe Biden before C19 hit. They present zero evidence of that, and I haven’t seen any. At least Dore somewhat apologized for defending Tulsi Gabbard when she dropped out and endorsed Biden, and then, again with no evidence, alleged that she had contacted Bernie’s campaign but they brushed her off.

There’s a lot of criticism of Matt Duss here; again, uncharacteristically without evidence for Blumenthal, saying he’s a disciple of regime change wars against authoritarian governments. I have seen nothing to indicate that that is true, and they showed me nothing to back up their claims.

Then again, I could turn the tables on Jimmy Dore by asking why he is cooperating with the DNC by ignoring strong evidence of outright election fraud. Same for Blumenthal. It’s like they think this country is a democracy or something and that our votes matter. What’s the matter with them?

        Hi ob,

Just like you and me, Jimmy and Max are providing commentary from their perspective and experience.  Is it always perfect, no.  Does it always comport with either your perspective or my perspective, no.  However, what it is is more grist for the mill to be used for reflection, contrast and comparison.  As an isolated unemployed and disaffected citizen, I will take all available viewpoints as input.

This article lost me on the first sentence – they say he was about ready to drop out? That may be but then they go on to say it was C19 that made him decide to stay in. I disagree. I think us followers asked him to stay in until the end for various reasons and he listened. I for one asked because I need him to speak for us and especially at the convention. I need this theft of an election to be fully recorded right up to the convention. I don’t ever want this to be forgotten as we move further into a failed country.

IF the DNC thinks we were angry before now in the middle of a mishandled crisis we are steaming. This is an FDR moment and there had better be a big change or they are going to be just as much to blame as tRump. And if Obama is really calling the shots like Clinton tries to do then he had better get on the right side. Bernie is staying in because we asked him to. As for endorsing Biden. Bernie would be better off staying home and refusing to answer his phone.

          Hi jwirr,

Yep – the anger and frustration are real.  However, the DNC, DLC, DCCC, DSCC and their donors and defenders will never change.  There will never be a reconciliation with Bernie or Bernie supporters.  Don’t wait for it because it will never come.  What power understands that the proletariat does not is all power has to do is wait.  Sooner or later all the anger and outrage will die like a candle flame leaving only whiffs of smoke.  Rest assured, the establishment democratic party will wait us out.  In America, change will only occur when millions have had enough and occupy the streets.  The numbers have to be large enough to swamp the jails leading to institutional paralysis.  Anything less will be managed by the 1% as we see daily.  They only lose control when we take control, en masse.  Trying to change the democratic party from within is a fools errand that will always disappoint.

I think you are right – we saw it happen in the 60s. So many out on the streets, some good leaders and hope. But by the end of the 70s most of those protestors were in the main stream with good paying jobs and no fear of being drafted. The good leaders were either soundly defeated, killed or in some other way discredited and just a few of us remained waiting for people to wake up.

But I think there is some hope today because we are in more than one crisis at a time. The virus is effecting the economy and that could bring it down far enough to bring about some changes. It will all depend on how this plays itself out and for how long.

              Hi jwirr,

Yes – agreed – the story is always unfolding.

One can hope; yet, history teaches other realities and outcomes.

Time will tell if current anger is sufficient to foster meaningful action.

@jwirr Both about the video and the DNC. Things to remember:

          • Barack Obama did telephone all of the Democratic candidates who dropped out and endorsed Biden before Super Tuesday.
          • Exit polls in every state deviated from the actual results by more than 4%, always to Bernie Sanders’ detriment, which the UN considers to be strong evidence of election fraud, yet the Sanders campaign says nothing about this.
          • Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer conspired with The Turtle and the Goldman-Sachs Munchkin from Mammon to combine corporate and working class assistance. There’s Joe Biden style bipartisanship, right there.
          • The corporate media is now in Bernie Blackout #2, completely ignoring his many statements on the C19 crisis.
          • The Third Way wants to cancel the convention in Milwaukee and force electronic voting from touchtone phones by the delegates due to the pandemic, thereby enabling still more election fraud.

It appears to me there is no way Bernie will be allowed to be the nominee. He is to be stopped at all costs, even if that might mean the destruction of the Democratic Party. I think it should mean such destruction; it remains to be seen how many other Bernie supporters will help in that effort, no matter what Bernie does or whom Bernie endorses.

After all, it’s not about him, it’s about us.

            Hi ob,

Nice summary of establishment democratic party corruption and adds to the documented corruption from 2016.

      Hi joe,

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way – in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only.

A Tale of Two Cities – Charles Dickens

If one is an Oligarch, Corporation or Bank it is the best of times with unlimited money flowing from heaven.

If one is a citizen, it is the worst of times with only crumbs for sustenance and the boot of authoritarianism upon the neck.

For the 1%, America is the land of milk and honey.

For the 99%, America is dead and has been for decades.

With 2016 history and 2020 unfolding, the reality of a disintegrating society and crumbling institutions is manifest daily.

Succor for the well healed; phlegm for the dispossessed.

And now with biological fear to quell all instinct of rebellion, all protest will be but whimpers of mice cowering in the dark.

What is to come will be writ by those that can; while those in need suffer most.

Thank you for sharing hard truths that many are unwilling to hear.

        @thouartthat Cities, not Societies. FYI.

I just read that book for the first time in 40 years a few months ago.

Bernie is a saint to many and above criticism. I have a sinking feeling that Dore was right when he said a while ago that Bernie is going to play the role of stalking horse again to try and help the democrats bring out progressives in support of their nominee.

My personal opinion is that none of this matters because Americans are no longer like Olaf glad and big.

thou art that, I don’t think that’s going to happen. The dumbing down is complete.

What will happen is that climate change will force the collapse of this dehumanizing, soul-less economic system, capitalism.
