It looks like Joe Biden has disappeared again; as he’s now the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party, I would expect him to be visible. I did a news search for him over the last 24 hours; lots of stories about him, but there’s nothing I can find from him.

One story pointed that I’m not the only one feeling this way, “Joe Biden Needs to Start Acting Like a Presidential Candidate from The Nation” at https://www.thenation.com/article/politics/biden-coronavirus-action/ .

      A few quotes:

So where the hell is Joe Biden? Why isn’t he on my television every day? Why isn’t he offering counterprogramming to Donald Trump’s daily ’rona rallies (which I’ve been begging the networks to stop broadcasting live). Right now, it feels like the only Democrat running for president is New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, while Biden has been busy polishing his résumé for Indeed.com.

And all Biden can come up with in response to this flagrant failure of governance is a 940-word essay in The New York Times. Maybe next week Biden can write a cartoon caption for The New Yorker so we know he still has a pulse.

Millions and millions of people have been laid off or furloughed because of this crisis. Trump never talks about them, because his narcissism demands a constant stream of positive stories about his own greatness. But Biden can and should talk about them. He should even talk to them. He should be holding press conferences with union leaders who are trying to find ways to avoid layoffs. He should be holding public meetings with the people fighting to get paid leave. The faces of the economic victims of this pandemic are not the CEOs of airlines; they’re the laid-off flight attendants and the furloughed baggage handlers. I don’t want to hear Biden tell me whom he’d be fighting for if he were president tomorrow; I want him to show me whom he’s fighting for today.

      We deserve, and deserved, better.

But then, Joe is Bernie’s “friend”, and Joe has never been Tara’s friend.

So the friendly networks go for a guy who a) speaks in complete sentences and b) has nothing nasty to say about Joe.

Plus Joe is impopular, and Bernie is still very popular. Better for the ratings I guess.

@mistap @bettykarlson Bernie will talk to the media. Joe doesn’t do so well . . .

..why Joe hasn’t done this or that- he is mentally incapable of it.

@pam2 Visibility isn’t good for him, just like Hillary went down in the polls the more she talked.

      Oh THAT Joe!

I dunno. After he stopped selling stuff on late night infomercials I have not seen hide nor hair of the guy.

You might try googling “Joe Frasier” and see if he is still around.

Declare the primary over by March, go dark until the convention.  That stunt has always worked so well in the past.

He’s most likely taking a nap. His handlers are keeping him out of the public eye for a reason. More people need to be asking where he is and force him out of hiding. Let the voters see exactly what the DNC is selling.

And I thought his eyes were pleading “take me home, please”.

He’s got a tiger by the tail, and he’d outrage his peeps if he said he couldn’t carry on. He’s not done until they tell him that he’s done. He might even have to serve a few years, depending on what the tea leaves say.

Joe Biden: I’m doing my best! I’ll do better tomorrow!

He doesn’t need to be seen much anymore since the number one goal of the party, which was to completely sideline the left, is now done. They really don’t care who wins now as long as any threat of change to the status quo, no matter how minimal, is behind them.

I want him to show me whom he’s fighting for today.

The only thing Joe is fighting for today is to keep his remaining functional brain cells alive.  It looks like he’s losing the battle.

There are trolls all over the internet pushing vote for the blue no matter who, there are people who will vote for him no matter what.  If Biden stays invisible and silent, he avoids fucking up.  Although I cannot imagine, at this point, how he could possible fuck up enough to dissuade those who vote for the blue, etc.  Campaigning for Biden is a revolting task which will likely be given to progressives.  And yes, the important thing was, and is, to get rid of progressives.
