KYIV, Nov 4 (Reuters) – U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said during a visit to Kyiv on Friday that U.S. support to Ukraine would remain “unwavering and unflinching” following Tuesday’s midterm congressional elections.

“We fully intend to ensure that the resources are there as necessary and that we’ll get votes from both sides of the isle to make that happen,” he told reporters during a briefing at the Ukrainian presidential administration.

“Elections have consequences.” It’s the political way for winners to tell losers: “Tough luck, you lost. Get over it.”

President Obama infamously espoused this view shortly after his 2009 inauguration, during a meeting with congressional Republicans about his economic proposals. Mr. Obama was later quoted as telling GOP leaders that “elections have consequences,” and, in case there was any doubt, “I won.”

Now, of course, the expression has come back to haunt the president. Since the Democratic Party’s drubbing at the polls earlier this month, politicians and pundits are repeatedly invoking the phrase as a justification for a more conservative agenda.

Ironic misuse of homophone in report about Oxford trained Sullivan, who on paper is the smartest guy in the world.

Sometimes those just jump out at me, but for too many younger reporters they decide it’s perfect English if it’s not underlined in red.

After all they’re the center of the universe, guiding US policy and still attempting to dominate the continent and the world. I came across the slavish US elite worship of the UK, especially by the state dept and social register types while I was living in the DC area. Tom Clancy was afflicted with it as well. It’s as bad as the unquestioning devotion to Israeli policy. I always found it pretentious and incomprehensible. Which is worse? Devotion to the policy goals of the UK or Poland? These are two of the malign influences in DC. The idea that someone like Sullivan or Blinken is the grand master of the devil’s chessboard is absurd. They are teetering so close to the outbreak of WWIII it isn’t funny.

I am amazed that they can still find new ways to incrementally escalate.

instigating quite a bit of terror.  And the King/Prince Charles is pretty much the architect of that Great Reset thing.  Charles has a LOT of money and influence, and then there is the nitwit adoration for “royalty”.  Charles also said the Covid pandemic was a great opportunity for global reset.  And it seems to me like that is what is being attempted/engineered.

“Unwavering” and “1000%” are intangibles, and different than, for example “a new one hundred billion dollar aid package”, or “loan guarantees that will keep Ukraine solvent for a decade”, or “All the main battle tanks from our military that they can use”.

“Unwavering support” is imo not all that far removed from telling Ukraine to “Endeavor to persevere”.

Americans are rightly wondering why we’re sending all this money to and threatening nuclear war over a country that did not even exist 32 years ago when they find it impossible to both fill up the gas tank and stock the pantry at the same time because of inflation. When Democrats call them traitors or at least Bad People for even asking the question, all that does is piss them off and make them more inclined to vote for the other shitty party.
