I hope this posts with the censorship of one name…

Young Beto O’Rourke casts himself as the ‘anti-Trump’. But his father-in-law, it turns out, is a billionaire property developer with a contentious relationship with non-white residents — not unlike the President. Beto’s more the proto-Jared Kushner.

The New York Times today revealed the highly interesting news that friend-of-the-little-guy Beto married well. Very well. His wife is not only the daughter of William D. Sanders, aka the Warren Buffet of real estate, …[the  NYT reporter]… can reveal she is the only daughter. Sanders’s portfolio is valued at about $20 billion.

Nothing wrong with that, of course, but something is amiss when an endless stream of laudatory profiles fails to mention it. ‘Stop the Press Before It Profiles Beto O’Rourke Again,’ came the muffled cry of Politico’s Jack Shafer a couple of weeks ago, from beneath a deluge of glowing cuttings about the Texas congressman. Having a profile of the boyishly handsome skateboarder standing against Sen. Ted Cruz is as key an ingredient to a left-leaning media site as an Instagram page or a round of cuts when your staff try to unionise.

So THAT explains the instant suck up from the DNC Usual Suspects to Beto’s butt. So how rich is Beto? So he is another Kerry like figure.

Who is this guy? He sat in the House and never got this kind of notice.

The better I understand why the DNC started cramming him down our throats as soon as the 2016 election was over.

Can you imagine what  would be happening if he had beaten Cruz? Was the whole senate campaign undertaken to position him for a 2020 presidential run?  If so, the fact he lost should have derailed that plan. Dems  appear to be doubling down instead.

I found this article quite interesting and sent it to a few people who were suckered in to the whole Beto thing.

So credit where credit is due. I talked to a friend of mine in Texas last night; big Beto supporter, big LOTE person who reads all of the Very Intelligent People on political sites who have been wrong so often.

He had no idea Beto’s wife is a real estate heiress or that Beto had voted with Republicans in Congress numerous times. He was resistant to hearing these things, too. What the hell. Bursting his bubble has become a hobby.

He said, with a straight face:

He ‘appealed to their anger at Washington. The “system is rigged,” he said, adding, “I can tell you that access is purchased, that votes are bought and paid for, that outcomes are determined before you have a chance to call your member of Congress or senator.”’
