It’s fine to carry some water for Biden as the president you endorsed, but it is NEVER okay to help him deceive the American people and those who are counting on leaders like Bernie to help struggling Americans.

He went down to Georgia and told those people they’d get $2000 each if they elected the two Democrat Senate candidates, and they did, and that’s definitely why Ossoff won, if not both of them.
Now Biden’s only going to deliver $1400. That’s not what he said. For that matter, Bernie joined with Josh Hawley to push for a stand alone vote on $2000 checks, with no mention of the already-passed $600. Why is Bernie letting Biden get away with that?
Whatever the answer is, he’s covering for the corporatist SOB. That makes him a traitor to the movement that followed him. That’s just way it is. Politicians lie. C’est la vie. Time to admit the sun sets in the west and move on.

With all due respect, this is a silly argument.
If Nigel Tufnel finds the volume set at 4 and turns it up to 11, he is increasing the volume to 11, but that doesn’t mean he’s added 11 to it.
As usual the Democrats have proven what crappy negotiators they are. They should’ve demanded an additional $2,000 and then dared the GOP to reduce it. Then, even if Congress was forced to compromise on a lower amount, the chances would be good that Americans would receive a total of $2,000 that they should’ve received at the outset. As it stands, calling for $1,400 even though it technically fills out the remaining sum originally proposed still runs the risk that it will be further reduced by the GOP during negotiations. That’s bad negotiating.
But no, although his statement can be interpreted in more than one way, Bernie is definitely NOT lying.
If we think we should be receiving more (and I do), we should devote our efforts to demanding it instead of wasting time calling one of our few allies in Congress a liar.

in making that statement, he LIED. Time to stop worshipping at the altar of all things Bernie, and find others in our nation of 330 million people who are willing to lead progressives to real victories, not just promises of unicorns and rainbows.
You are willing to let him lie to you, and to those people out there who aren’t as smart as you (and you are plenty smart). I find that disappointing, but whatever. I’m not willing to let him lie to ME. So yeah, I will call him out here, this discussion forum of about 25 people. Big deal.
And lastly, do you know what $600 means to people who have next to nothing? A lot. “But we gave you $600.” “Wait, what?” “You’ll never be happy, moving on…” “Wait, you said …” See how this dishonest 3-card monte game goes? I’m done listening to it from our elected officials.

Or is it that they really side more with the right than the left to start with? With some on JPR Bernie and AOC can’t do anything right. But rarely do they complain about Pelosi, Schumer, or even the Republicans. And every evil thing that has happened since 1776 has been the fault of the liberals. Couple of days ago I read on JPR that a car jacker returned a child to their mother and because he chewed her out for leaving the child in the car he must have been a liberal! Really makes you wonder whose side they are really on doesn’t it?
This wouldn’t even be a argument if Bernie hadn’t gotten us the 600 dollars in the first place. The direct payment stimulus was dead until Bernie revived it. With some people, if you give them a fifty dollar bill, they will complain that it wasn’t a hundred.

but you rarely miss an opportunity to bash liberals. It isn’t liberals that are messing up the Country, it’s all the “liberals” with adjectives associated with their name. Adjectives like neo, limousine, etc. added to the word liberal do not make someone a liberal, their attitude and politics make them moderates at best and in most cases conservatives, and almost always opportunists. I have no doubt that you actually know the difference. Real liberals do such things as get the Vietnam war stopped and racial equality legislation passed. Maybe if the liberals of today had more people helping them instead of bashing them we could get some of our present wars stopped, Occupy Wall Street may have gotten some things done, and Defund the police may actually get somewhere. Liberals are not the enemy of the left, they are the left, they were before the Republicans made it a dirty word and still are to this day. I for one and there are more, am proud to be a liberal, always was and always will.

If you think you’re more progressive/liberal than the rest of us just because we take issue with policy. It’s about policy not worship and I’m not convinced that neo-liberal (yeah I know but it’s descriptive, get it??) policy is good for our country or it’s people…

I’m a socialist, you see, so I see society in terms of economic class. Liberals believe in capitalism as the primary economic driver of society. I don’t. I don’t think capitalism, at least in its current hierarchical form where businesses are run exactly like dictatorships, should be allowed to exist. No one person, or small group of people, should be allowed to make business decisions without the consent of their employees. (Sole proprietorships and partnerships don’t count).
I am willing to compromise and go for a social democracy, such as those in Western Europe. If LBJ had succeeded in all of his domestic goals, the United States would have become something at least approaching social democracy. But he never quite got there, and that was because of his fear of being painted as too soft on Communism by the right.
Anyway, liberals today virtue-signal a lot, but they don’t get out there with Occupy Wall Street or the anti-police brutality protests. No, they bemoan the destruction of property. They tend to pick some politician and follow them like they’re rock stars, always making excuses for them when they fail to even try to deliver on their promises or even when they flatout lie.
Politics is not a team sport. Politics is about power, and liberals are never willing to actually wield it to accomplish what they say they want to do, even on the rare occasions when they have such power. They’re also quick to trumpet their superiority over their supposed enemies in the public(deplorables, Bernie Bros, etc), and then they wonder why the people they have insulted and those they have let down despise them.
When push comes to shove, liberals will side with conservatives every time to prevent people like social democrats or socialists from actually gaining power, and I think it’s because they don’t want to risk losing their stock portfolios or giving up the lifestyles they hold so dear.
At least, that’s how I see it. In a nutshell with lots of gaps.

Also, I think it’s important to point out that while I can’t say for sure, I don’t think Krystal either needs the payment or even qualifies for it. She is making an observation, much as someone like Franklin Roosevelt, heir to a fortune, argued that social security was essential to keep elderly Americans out of poverty.
