Saagar thinks it’s not likely Senate will have the votes to convict Trump. Krystal thinks it’s quite possible Mitch knows he has the votes.
They both agree —> Mitch and GOP are afraid of losing the support of the power-elite.

At that time, Mitch will not have control of the senate.

he still has control of the GOP votes.

Good point. I didn’t realize that the Senate won’t be in session until January 21. But as NV pointed out, he will be like Chuck Schumer — Minority Leader. He’ll have a good idea how many GOP members will get on board with convicting Trump before he himself sticks his neck out of his shell.

As to when McConnell will lose control, that depends on how long it takes Georgia to certify its Senate results, so that Warnock and Ossoff can be sworn in. McConnell is Majority Leader until both new Senators take office and Harris is inaugurated as VP to break the resulting tie.

and remove from office — and it will be a challenge to legally show that Trump requested violence and murder.

Right now it seems like they’re more than willing to toss Trump under the bus. I see YouTube just shut down Trump’s YouTube Channel. They say it’s temporary, but left open the option to extend it indefinitely. YouTube, of course, owned by Google.

If impeached, when there’s a Senate vote you’ll go down in history voting to convict a President who is no longer in office – and I suspect there will be enough speech advocates to ensure this is recorded as a purely political vote to convict.

12 Senate Repubs have said they support impeachment. Whether that’s true or not (from TYT), I don’t know. If it is true, Trump’s toast.
I do know, I don’t trust Turtle Man as far as I can throw him.

Just yesterday, some major corporate political donors announced they will no longer donate to the Republican senators who voted to overturn the election results. Now, today, the Turtle comes out and says this. It is no coincidence. The oligarchy wants Trump taken off the board, and their loyal servant Mitch will oblige. Here’s Kyle Kulinski’s report on the subject:
It is better to vote for what you want and not get it than to vote for what you don't want and get it.--Eugene Debs
Show me a man that gets rich by being a politician, and I'll show you a crook.--Harry Truman

…there won’t be lots of actual evidence required. It would be like most political decisions from Congress, decided in the back room and any stated reason for the decision will do.
