Seriously, what did he think was going to happen? The only thing I use Wikipedia for is movie information. I like the format. It’s easy to find the kind of information I’m looking for, a d it’s as accurate as any other source for movie info.

I can’t judge him too harshly. I couldn’t have predicted in 2004, what has happened to the internet and our media establishment since.

Who knew what would happen back then? I thought it was a great idea at first, too.

Wikipedia represents what he calls progressive propaganda (he conflates Establishment with progressive) or because it weeds out the more wacky, unproven claims of extremist libertarian propaganda and religious propaganda?
The host kinda addresses the idea that neutrality doesn’t mean readers have to wade through pages of dipshits and their wacko ideas.
Not that I’m saying you can trust Wikipedia. I’m just saying his arguments about neutrality ring hollow coming from the far right.
I want facts, not belief systems.

Wingnuts have a truly distorted concept of political ideology, like when they call Clinton, Obama and Biden socialists, or by not considering free market ideology to be right-wing extremism.

Looking at the Wikipedia entry for ivermectin,
The English version says: During the COVID-19 pandemic, misinformation was widely spread claiming that ivermectin is beneficial for treating and preventing COVID-19. Such claims are not backed by trustable scientific evidence.
The Spanish version says: Ivermectin is being studied as a possible anti-viral agent against chikungunya, Covid-19 and yellow fever.
The French version says: It is currently the subject of many studies in the development of medications against Covid-19. The WHO, since March 2021, recommends not using ivermectin for covid disease, while in India and Latin American countries it has been used in the therapeutic arsenal, even though it is the object of a clear evaluation.
The Italian version says: It also seems to be effective against the virus that causes Covid-19. The efficacy remains to be verified.
The Russian version says: During the COVID-19 pandemic, there was widespread false information that ivermectin was helping to fight or prevent the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. Such statements are not supported by the studies.
I appears that the Russian version is taken directly from the English, while the most balanced information is in French. Now I know how I can shop around to get multiple viewpoints.

I’ve donated every year, but I guess I’m done with that now.
