A woman in Louisville, Kentucky, is accusing a local Taco Bell of kicking her and a group of homeless people out as she was buying them dinner.

Shannon Gridley’s attempt at a random act of kindness began Tuesday night when she was driving under an overpass and she noticed three people sitting nearby…

How dare she help fellow Americans

I already had a somewhat low opinion of Taco Bell anyway.

I would like to remind you that U.S. health insurance companies do not contribute anything to health care. They are only a PARASITIC middle man receiving an undeserved cut of "FREE MONEY".

Why the hell would Taco Bell care who the PAID FOR FOOD goes to? What difference does it make?

That’s just stupid. How did they know the people were homeless?

Generally, people working at a business recognize the homeless people that live in the neighborhood.   You see them panhandling, or dumpster diving, or catching some zs.  Compassionate people will throw something their way, but I would guess that this Taco Bell has Christians on staff.  The kind of Christians that have rewritten the Sermon on the Mount to read “Fucked are those who hunger and thirst, for they shall be tossed out on their ass”.

One would think they would be happy to sell more food and it’s going to feed homeless people! Why would you not want hungry homeless people to be fed? It’s evil and heartless.

This is baaaaad publicity for Taco Bell! And that employee should be fired. The lack of empathy in this country has become endemic.

One might think it would be bad publicity, but there are towns all over the country that are criminalizing feeding the homeless.  The lack of empathy in this country depends on how Republican an area you are in (and KY is very Republican).  It is evil and heartless, and that’s why McConnell keeps getting re-elected.

As I understand the article, the employee(s) were trying to follow received store policy.  Not sure its a good idea to try to penalize minimum wage workers who are possibly one step from homeless themselves.  I think the woman asked for training; that seems appropriate.

“A Taco Bell employee who spoke to the Courier-Journal on condition of anonymity confirmed key parts of the incident and added that the employees are under strict orders not to allow homeless people to use the restrooms.”

This has happened before. I remember the story where it was a McDonalds that called the cops on a customer that gave a hamburger to a homeless person outside the restaurant. (I don’t think the cops did anything).
