Cenk Uygur, the host of the online political show “The Young Turks,” said that Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) is the best chance for a progressive to become former Vice President Joe Biden’s (D) running mate.

“To me it’s a no-brainer as far as what progressives should want,” he said on Hill.TV’s “Rising” Tuesday. “Among the realistic choices [Warren is] by far the most progressive.”

Uygur is a long-time supporter of Sen. Bernie Sanders‘s (I-Vt.), who ended his presidential campaign earlier this year after losing several key states to Biden during Super Tuesday.

Biden, the presumed Democratic nominee, has committed to choosing a woman as his running mate.

According to Warren herself, she is a Capitalist to her bones, loves them markets, and is not like Bernie AT ALL!!!!!!

      So shut the fuck up.

      Hi n2,

And lest we not forget, Cenk was one of the loudest cheerleaders for HRC.  The man clearly has a few blind spots and adoring Neo-Liberals like Warren is one of them.

What’s a no-brainer is that Cenk is a millionaire who can afford to take the long view and endorse incremental approaches. What’s a no-brainer for me is that Elizabeth Warren is an opportunistic sssssnake of a politician whose primary objective is advancing her own status and power. What’s a no-brainer for Biden’s team is that their donors such as Jeff Bezos and Jamie Dimon will never forgive her for opposing Wall Street in the past.

Cenk must be smoking some good shit to believe Warren might be the VP pick. And he can kiss my ass with the Vote Blue No Matter Who shit he will inevitably spew.

Vote blue no matter who and wants a backstabbing, lying POS 🐍 as VP.

His “Progressivism” is peculiar, if not non-existent.

      NO.

Cenk was saying that Warren would be the best of the options who have any realistic chances of being on the ticket. Better than Scamala Harris, the other cop from Florida, Neera’s gap toothed puppet in Georgia, or that CIA tool who fucked up the Benghazi thing. (those are my paraphrases, not Cenk’s).

I’m still pissed at Liz for what she did to Bernie in the primary, and I cannot even begin to understand any rationalization where she would endorse a piece of shit like Frackenlooper. And her weasel words on Medicare for All during the primary were not encouraging, to say the least.

But in general terms of policy, especially when it comes to Wall Street predatory capitalism, Warren is better than any of the other women on Joe’s supposed “short list”. And as I’ve said before, the VP needs to be the AntiCheney – somebody who’s actually the President while Biden takes a lot of naps and makes a few of his brain salad speeches for the cameras (see Ronald Reagan, Chimpy W. Cokespoon).

There’s also the issue of bringing voters to the polls. Some people on this board wouldn’t vote for Joe even if Liz was on the ticket. I’m not 666% sure I would either. But I know it’s not a flat out refusal like it will be if there’s another Joe Lieberman/Tim Kaine style “let’s drag the ticket even further to the right” selection. There’s about half the voters who didn’t bother to vote at all in 2016. Warren on the ticket wouldn’t get all of them to show up, but it’s realistic to say she would appeal to far more of those people than the likes of Scamala Harris, Susan CIA Rice, or some barely known cop in Florida whose name I can’t even recall in my undercaffeinated Devil brain for the moment.

That’s pretty much were Cenk was coming from, and I have to agree in the strategic sense. The Devil isn’t going to tell anybody how to vote, but if there’s another “least worst” option available, I’m not seeing it.

But she acts like one sometimes. That’s about as close as we’re going to get this time. There is no way Biden can choose anyone but a black woman. This means he will probably select somebody pretty close to the center, somebody who will not scare the white voters too badly. In terms of political moderation, Stacey Abrams would be perfect, but she is not physically attractive. I don’t know if any of the others on the list can match Abrams for her opportunistic, Randroid view of the world, but I’m sure the Biden people can come up with somebody drives right down the middle of the road.

Most of them will hold their noses and vote for him anyway.

He already has Mass in the bag.

He already has the women’s vote in the bag.

She is the one most likely to alienate the “centrist” votes because she’s seen as “too liberal”.

He’ll probably pick a woman who’s not “too liberal” or “too black” but is a bit to the left of him and a lot to the left of Trump.

He’ll probably pick one from a “battle ground” state or has sway in them.

He won’t go with Warren. Too old. Too “liberal”  for the VD brigade. Rolls eyes. I’m guessing maybe Tammy Duckworth. War hero who had her legs blown off. Served two terms in Congress. Current Senator. Mom. Half Asian. Checks a lot of boxes. Centrist who won’t rock the boat. Trump would be foolish to make fun of her, but that’s how he rolls, and it wouldn’t go over well with other than his ignorant, racist base. I’m not voting Biden, but since he’s backed himself into a corner with his premature statement that he’d pick a woman running mate, he could do worse than Duckworth.

Duckworth was born in Thailand, though her father was a US citizen. She’s as eligible as John McCain, and more eligible than Ted Cruz, by that standard, but it’s probably not worth handing that ready-made fake scandal to Cheeto & the MAGAtts.

Do you notice how they never, ever, ever mention Tulsi Gabbard as a possible VP choice? Woman of color. Progressive. Biden would win by a landslide with her as his running mate.

now why is anyone listening to him?  Cenk is part of the problem – he wasn’t initially, but became so.

We’ve discussed this sequence of events over, and over, and over again here on JPR.  It’s not a revelation.

AOC is on the same path.

And to be honest, you can’t blame them too much – if they compromise even a little, the rewards are massive.  Rinse, repeat, and retire – like Nancy Pelosi – with an ultra-high net worth fortune, all from having served the public as a government official.  Nope, no corruption there, no sir.  LOL
