Our governor is limiting the size of gatherings, except for, you guessed it, religious services. Big loophole. Anybody could organize anything under the rubric of a church. “Welcome to the first annual Foursquare Church Tractor Pull, Prayer Breakfast, and Hillbilly Music Festival.”

      Hi hc,

      Delusion is as Delusion does.

For an antidote, one might listen to The Atheist Experience on you tube.  It’s fun hearing religious delusions dissected in real time.

The western part of both states from the Cascades to the Pacific should be one state, the eastern plains of both the other. Or is there a regional divide on this? You’d know better than I.

@ohiobarbarian The Cascade Mountains are the dividing line. There are a few anomalies. Some of the logging towns in the coastal mountains, for example, think Hitler was just an old softy.

In my college days it was just a collection of red neck bars. That’s a bit unfair, but one gets the point.

We used to do college outdoor trips to the hot springs in SE Oregon, and we drove through Bend on the way to the desert. The only thing open at night was the truck stop and Taco Bell. Smaller towns like Madras and Terrebonne came and went in the blink of an eye. Then people retired from California to Eastern Oregon, and Bend was the favorite place because of the skiing at Bachelor Butte. Many of the people who moved to Bend, Redmond, Sisters, etc. are liberals and the cowboys are angry about losing control of city councils and county commissions. They equate it to the time when the Rajneeshies took over Antelope. No comparison, of course, but it feels the same to them.
