It just worked on two Linux Mint computers I set up in the last year. choice of scanner document feed or flat bed. Scan to PDF, jpg, print, e-mail. No setting up at all. Everything just worked.
I bought the printer in March of 2013. Try that with Windows. I dare ya. -

Interesting. I’m not having any problems now with the VPN disabled, and I had no problems until recently. I hate when things change for no obvious reason, especially as I just don’t have the time or patience anymore to properly investigate the issue. Oh well.
I stopped using duckduckgo when the CEO announced that they were going to “down-rank…[Read more]

Thanks, @mrdmk. I do have a VPN and I’ve not run into this problem before. Oh well. Guess I better work on my pattern matching skills. 🙂

I get that Google message while using a VPN…
What it tells me is, Google attempts to get as much information on a user.
Using an identify a picture routine by Google gets past the VPN by making your ID itself.
As far as using a VPN to protect your privacy, it helps. It is not a total solution.
If you attempt to use an Internet connection…[Read more]

Anyone else seeing this message recently? I’ve been getting it multiple times a day when I search on google. It started when I tried to show my sister all the articles about Ukrainian Nazis. Then I got it when searching for articles that talked about the Clinton-Trump relationship and how the Clintons pushed Trump to run, and later when I tried to…[Read more]

It was a packaged deal. Wanted to hook it up just for shits & giggles. I’m guessing the cartridges are not available any more.
But I have decided to go with Canon. It should be here tomorrow.

Doesn’t have the same range of features on Linux. And it goes through ink like a thirsty man in the middle of a desert in Hell goes through water… but that’s unfortunately true of all inkjet printers. That’s why the printers themselves have been so cheap in recent years… because they make all their money on the ink cartridges.
So if you’re a…[Read more]

I thought of HP because I thought I heard or saw somewhere that HP had good reviews. But there is no way I would ever get an Epson. Have not heard anything good about them. Thanks for the input.

A decent color lase with full duplex printing isn’t that expensive and the increased cost is offset by the toner cartridges printing a hell of a lot more copies than an inkjet cartridge.
If the printer installs without any driver issues, I ignore any updates.
