New hamster wheels put into service last night: hopefully things will be a little faster and smoother now! There *were* some hiccups, but things seem to be OK now. Please log any problems in the "Help & Q&A Forum", thanks!

    Wifi Speed

With all the Firefox crashes happening, I decided to run Speed Test.  It’s approximately 4:30 a.m., and I’m getting 0.71 Mbps download and 0.29 Mbps upload.

    1. What is the speed of a wired connection?

What type of modem/router? Who is your ISP?

My wired speed is about 950 Mbps up and down. My wireless speed(through my Google Fiber supplied router) is 45 Mbps. I could speed it up by using a different router in series with one of the wired connections but that is more than fast enough for my purposes on any wifi connected computer in the house.

And it beats the hell out of the 5.4 Mbps wired speed on my old AT&T internet.

I won't shut up and I don't waste my time teaching pigs to sing
