I was introduced to this by a Ukrainian friend; it’s stayed with me.  It was released around the time of the Euromaidan demonstrations.

      Released version

And live in Kyiv in August of 2014.

      The lyrics are

      Ruby parts, of sunrise
      Chopping evil passions, burning within
Jump higher than the sky, brother and sister
      Golden sparks – bonfire splatters

Rejoice at the sledge in the mighty hand
Waterfall, youth – in a fast river
Beat the drum – bam, bam
      Barricades, friends, noise, commotion

Warriors of light, warriors of good
Defending the summer, fighting till the morning
Warriors of good, warriors of light
      Jah Rastafari fighting till dawn

A soldier cries, medal on his uniform
How many guys are in the wormwood on the hillside?
Behind a storm cloud- a dragon, heart of stone
In the night – the law, chop, to warm up

Rejoice at the sledge in the mighty hand
Waterfall, youth – in a fast river
Beat the drum – bam, bam
      Barricades, friends, noise, commotion

Warriors of light, warriors of good
Defending the summer, fighting till the morning
Warriors of good, warriors of light
      Jah Rastafari fighting till dawn

Warriors of light, warriors of good
Defending the summer, fighting till the morning
Warriors of good, warriors of light
      Jah Rastafari defending the summer

Warriors of light, warriors of good
Defending the summer, fighting till the morning
Warriors of good, warriors of light
      Jah Rastafari fighting till dawn

      Ukranian Rastafarians??  Who knew?

The lyrics were totally Rasta.  The music wasn’t reggae and the ambiance wasn’t as laid back.  But I think I’ll leave the Ukrainian people some leeway for being more antsy, these days.  And the music is stellar.

(edit to add: On a moment’s reflection, I don’t think the lyrics are totally Rasta.  There are some critical things missing.)

      @algernon
@satan I also found it beautiful the first time I heard it, and the Rastafarian element was a surprise.

And it did pleasantly replace the Christmas music in my head after playing services today!
