Medicare Beneficiary Care Management- Does anyone know what this is? in the forum Jackpine Elders 2 years ago
The system we have is only good for the private insurance parasites, big pharma, the lobbyists and the corrupt politicians

Medicare Beneficiary Care Management- Does anyone know what this is? in the forum Jackpine Elders 2 years ago
BCMP is a new program that is for what they call “traditional fee for service Medicare” and not the Medicare type programs that are HMO based, or what they call Medicare Advantage programs.
So, if your mom was getting rehabilitative services, which generally come from being admitted in a hospital (acute care setting), or if your mom was indeed…[Read more]

Someone from this entity called today. I blew them off. Do any of you know what they do? I tried looking at the site but it sounds like a bunch of gibberish. I am a caregiver for my elderly Mom, so it was in reference to her, but I’m not sure what these people would do that I’m not doing already.

I backed out of the elective surgery. in the forum Jackpine Elders 2 years ago
The sciatica is awful, but does not happen all that much, and a gabapentin will dial it back down. Two gabapentin, which I did accidentally and only once, got me 7 hours of sleep! My problem, aside from the cracked sacroiliac, is that I had arthroscopic knee surgery for a torn meniscus 25 years ago and there is still inflammation and s…[Read more]

That’s kind of you. I don’t think people who have never dealt with chronic pain can understand.

Yeah, I had really bad, constant pain for years. I finally got the surgery I needed and I’m pain free and can sleep again! I hope and wish the same for you.

If I got off my feet the pain subsided a lot. I can’t take it. I tried again this year and still no go. Pounding headaches. They slid the collapsed disc back in place after the laminectomy. The pinched nerve was killing me along with the collapsed disc and they let me wonder around for 120 before a Dr. finally took pity on me and gave me half a…[Read more]

It helps with everything! On the serious side it does help me sleep a little but when you get above a 5 on the smiley frowny scale, no.

from violent shit, and of course now I have some pain from my sciatic nerve. Feels like my leg will fall off and that would be okay. Amazing pain, like a shot. Anyway, gabapentin helps a great deal with that, maybe ask your doctor if it would help you. It is maybe an off-label thing.

Hang in @dormeusjessup after we see this Covid19 out with a vaccination and you can deal with it, waiting is a good idea.
Keep us up to date, does MJ help with the pain?

Covid is all over my hometown now since schools opened up. Guy I graduated with died today in Florida. Big Trumper. Facebook page with photos with him being the only one without a mask Like the old commercial, “It’s not nice to fool with Mother Nature”. Don’t tempt the gods. Bob Marley is mine since someone said I had to believe in something. My…[Read more]

Hey all! Question. in the forum Jackpine Elders 2 years ago
Thanks for the feedback. I don’t want the setback. The atrophy in my legs is getting better and I need the next 90 days to square that up. Sitting here in Indiana surrounded by states that are covid filled. I don’t doubt that it “might” or “could” help in the long term. I’m not so sure that staying on my routine isn’t the much wiser move at this…[Read more]

There’s Good News on Dementia. But It Requires Big Changes to How We Live in the forum Jackpine Elders 2 years ago
The good news about dementia is that much of its predictable harm is actually preventable right now, without the need to develop new drugs or vaccines. Indeed, prevention is the first goal of Canada’s own dementia plan.
But if we are to take prevention seriously, it does mean we need to transform our societies. Here’s why….
Reducing one ris…[Read more]

My SO had lumbar reconstructed and this controlled the unbelievable amount of pain.
Lots of the outcome depends on how much exercise you did before any of these procedures and how much you can walk afterwards. Sounds like you were starting to do well…

Hey all! Question. in the forum Jackpine Elders 2 years ago
Anybody have or no anybody who has had a stimulator inserted in abdomen or upper buttocks to control pain? The unit I am trying out for a week at the end of the month is made by Abbott Labs Burst DR with an apple control device. Had Laminectomy 18th of December and that lasted about two months until I got another pinched nerve that surgeon had…[Read more]
