My furry girls are enjoying a break in the rain today

It’s the first I’ve seen them since November

    1. Oh they're lovely! One had pollen….is this from last summer or are there fruit

trees in bloom?! How exciting for you! I thought I saw a Mason Bee the other day then it snowed and has been horribly cold. I hope my girls survive.

      2. It's today!

I don’t see any flowers out except crocuses. Maybe willow and hazel catkins?
I’m just glad they survived the long wet winter.

        3. She found some pollen somewhere! Good news!

Do you supplement with sugar water in spring?

          5. I haven't for two years

When I last did, they threw a swarm early (that’s actually THIS colony) and then the mother colony died. I like to think this bunch is adapted, and it’s better to let them do their own thing. I’m pleased that they were out and about even in the cool weather. But you never know, and it’s SO TEMPTING to pamper them.
