This is a group set up for those of us that suffer the mental ailments that challenge us throughout our lives. This group exists because we’re better off together than alone.

Clearly, this one never had a chance of working out for you. I know nothing about therapy or therapists, so I’ll just wish you good luck and leave it at that.

As I posted earlier, the therapist I have been talking to (video chat, telehealth, whatever) is someone who is a Trump follower, very right wing. Up until now, we haven’t talked a whole lot about religion. Yet, for me, in therapy, when I discuss the things that are bothering me – some of those things are controversial. Such as, for example, th…[Read more]

Memories, weird thoughts and paranoia in the forum JPR Mental Health Support Group 2 months ago
The older I get, the more I think about various mistakes I made. Sometimes it’s pretty consequential, like the time I screwed up an election. Other things are smaller, like the times I couldn’t find the right words to say to someone who was feeling pain. As I approach my senility, it all runs together. Weird.

Good suggestion @pam2. What about volunteering at the library to help tutor some of the kids in your area? You have the ability and ‘they’ say that in order to help yourself, help someone else. Also library’s might be helpful to a writer in progress….you’re ok my friend. I don’t like myself sometimes either, I think we are all alike in that way.…[Read more]

He/She is right. That’s all you can do. Even small progress is progress. Also you can’t rewrite the past. Try not to dwell on it. Are there any opportunities for volunteer work in your area? Focusing on helping others can help your self esteem and take your mind off your problems. (It doesn’t have to be helping people. Helping animals is good…[Read more]

Lately I’ve been doing a lot of thinking – bad for me, I know – and yes, it does hurt a bit. Anyhow, I’ve been looking back on much of my life, old regrets, old worries… and some newer ones and asking myself what I can do differently now – how I can change. For the billionth time, of course, but the older I get the more it, at times, feels u…[Read more]

Every inch of recovering to feeling better is a blessing. I can’t wait to read a few pages of an eBook without any pain. 🙂

I’ve had similar symptoms before. It does not, however, sound like Covid.
As for avoiding politics, I don’t blame you. All this obsessing over Trump’s health is…irritating, to say the least. Trump must love it. He’s sucking up all the oxygen in most of the news rooms.

Yadda, yadda, yadda, I couldn’t sleep and I was developing chills, a fever, nausea, dizziness, and a massive headache, like a band was tightening inside my head. I started looking into getting tested for Covid-19, and CVS does it. Their website is a glitchy mess though, and it would intermittently refuse and accept my zip code, and then…[Read more]

Self-disclosure is tricky thing. Before sharing personal information, a good therapist should always question his/her motives: Will this information benefit the client? Or am I just running off my mouth for nontherapeutic reasons? A good therapist is supposed to offer a nonjudgmental environment in which the client feels safe sharing his/her…[Read more]

As we are here in the Napa Valley. Soooo, evaluate him as a therapist. If it seems like he can help you, tell him you obviously disagree on politics and you want to avoid that topic in the future. If he gets pissy about that, or he doesn’t seem to help you, drop him. If you have a lot of choices in therapists, drop now.

The guy is clueless, and that doesn’t bode well for him helping you, and frankly (despite the fact that he probably has a masters degree for his position) he doesn’t seem very bright. So are you going to be able to respect his opinions and if not will you listen to his advice?
I worked for well over a decade supporting community based mental…[Read more]

Anyone who thinks that Black Lives Matter, now funded by billionaires of the oligarchy, has been taken over by Marxists and socialists is clearly ignorant at best. Anyone who thinks that Antifa, or the left in general, wants “to destroy America,” whatever that means, is probably a Fascistic capitalist greedhead himself, especially if he’s Black.…[Read more]
