It hovered about midway up the mountain. It wasn’t that thick, and once you got below or above it, you could see fine. Tule is a thick, whiteout, ground fog. This was our standard, hover-midway-up-the-mountain fog.

with a balcony that overlooked Golden Gate Park and I could even see the towers of the Golden Gate Bridge.
I used to love to watch the fog roll in over the Presidio . . .

I was stationed on Treasure Island once, and the fog rolled in. I kept on expecting Jacqueline Bisset to come running out of it. Never happened, more’s the pity, but it was awesome. Couldn’t see 5 feet in front of my face.

The trees are plentiful and grow in front of traffic lights and assorted street signs.
Have a good time, and watch out for those 109 barrels of donated wine. I do not think they are as earthquake proof as advertised. As a matter of fact, when properly used in quantity, the earth seems to move for no apparent reason.

BTW, dogs are great photo buddies. They keep an eye on your back and never tell you to hurry up.
