Big offers. I enjoy watching golf, but you can see the firms that back golf as well as the names of stadiums.
Corporations come first already, like the 2022 ExxonMobil Relay For LIfe Golf Tournament, so I’m not going to worry too much about it. It’s been a long time since there’s been something like Dodger Stadium.

Saudi Arabia is using this big golf thing to improve its image. Evidently, golfers have to choose between the PGA and this LIV thing. I’m not a golfer so I pay scant attention, but I do notice that many people accept anything…[Read more]

Last year’s NBA finalists are eliminated in the forum JPR Sports 1 month ago
Suns are down by 40 points with 7 minutes left in the 3rd quarter so it looks like Dallas will face Golden State for the Western Conference finals. GS won 3 titles in 4 seasons but Luka Doncic is a terrific young player.
The NBA champs from last year Milwaukee Bucks were eliminated by Boston who will face Miami in the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Raiders and Chargers are mediocre at best. If they were in the AFC North they still wouldn’t have a chance.

As I said, those two were the last remains of the team that won a Super Bowl… and could have won two in a row, if not for one extremely dumb play at the last second.
Pete Carroll is all that remains of the old Seahawks now… and he’s not very popular among the 12’s at the moment. Especially with the rumors that they’re trying to replace…[Read more]

Sounds like they’re trying to join the Browns and Lions in having a winless season to get the #1 draft pick. My condolences. Seahawks fans don’t deserve that.

Meh. Neither team going anywhere any time soon IMO. Although I do love Javante Williams future in Denver if he stays healthy.

He was a good citizen up here and kept some mediocre Seahawks teams in the playoffs with his ability. With Wagner gone, pretty sure that’s the last of the “Legion of Boom”. Guess we can go back to calling them the “Sea Chickens”, sadly.

This is more fucked up than anything in the last fucked up NFL season.
Well… it was nice while it lasted, I guess. I’ll probably have a fully operational ski lodge here in Hell before the Seahawks see a playoff game again.

It’s not Aaron Rodgers, but the Denver Broncos made their splash play for a Super Bowl-winning quarterback.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported Tuesday the Seahawks and Broncos agreed in principle on a trade sending quarterback Russell Wilson to Denver for a massive haul, including multiple first-round draft picks, plus additional picks and pl…[Read more]

Maybe even to the point where we no longer hand out medals. The competition is way too intense, too nationalistic, too much of pure excess in every respect.

…against Russia based on this? The sanctions could be enacted preemptively, but if the coach apologizes the US could consider removing them.

My assumption for a long time has been that all the coaches of all the countries can be harsh. And that some coaches, like those of the US gymnastic program, are sexual predators. And that massive amounts of money are squandered and laundered and siphoned.
Here is an article from the NYT about harsh treatment in the US Olympic gymnastics co…[Read more]

Kind of odd that the government finds it necessary to support the coach.

And I usually root for the underdog, so I would like to see the underdog Bengals win. However, my prediction: Rams 27 – Bengals 17. The Rams beat the Bucs, so they must be good.

Oregon had a QB who was horrible at making passing decisions and would certainly get picked off throwing to a well-covered receiver. That said, I’m hoping Stafford learned from nearly getting picked off against SF. Had that dude not dropped that “likely” INT, it would have been over. So I’m guessing Stafford has that play drilled into his brain to…[Read more]
