The host country has a lot of influence over the rules, just like Japan did. If you don’t like the rules, don’t come, or go home. Will the Japanese be waving the rising sun flag? Will they incorporate the rising sun flag into their uniforms and clothing? Will they make statements that the Nanking massacre never happened or that they invaded China for its own good? Maybe they will discuss their promise to “defend Taiwan.” Perhaps they will carry pennants showing the Senkakus as part of Japan. I would expect with the current foreign minister and prime minister the Japanese athletes will be advised to avoid the worst of these provocations but you never know what could come up, because some people will probably try to use the Olympics for propaganda purposes.
Since China is only surpassed by Russia as the worst human rights violator in the history of mankind, if you listen to American empire shills, then why are we sending a team at all? How about the US put its money where its big fucking mouth is and show the world their “principles” by refusing to partake in such a repressive country!
All governments lie to their citizen's, but only Americans believe theirs.
