    I'm surprised

That @deadpool didn’t label this “Old Folks Home”.

Just what do old folk talk about?

    Bunions?

          9. Or what a phone booth looks like

or what a “having a party line” is.

or remember when most everyone had access to affordable medical care and it was not even an issue. I think this last ^ one is true, it was for me.  But then my dad worked for the Federal gov’t and we always had decent health ins.,   but I do not remember it ever “being an issue” with any of my friends’ families and such.

            13. OR 5 number exchange.

We had a party line on the ranch for years. Once in my first year in college like forever ago, we designed a phone booth that could be used for protection from attack. Thought that they would be really useful in cities for women to be able to thwart someone and summon help. Booths were all over the place.

Seemed like a good idea that went nowhere.

              25. We had an outhouse and an icebox

And my granddad had a windmill that pumped water from his well and kerosene lights until FDR got a dam built that brought power to his part of TN. Like five years before I was born.

                27. Thank god for the rural electrification from FDR.

We had a hand dug well, rope bucket and out houses for years.

Took three years to get electricity to the ranch, and we had to trench almost five miles of phone wire to wind up getting a party line.

And I was in school in the late ’60’s and early ’70’s.

We couldn’t keep an ice box up, used a series of thermal coolers to keep stuff cool.

            31. Yep .. I really wanted to go, but was glad I didn't

I worked on Bobby Kennedy’s campaign and was still in shock and frozen in grief/disbelief.  My ex-wife and I organized this rally at Portland State University during the Oregon primary.  Bobby then hired us to go to California with him .. the rest is history.  :-(

              32. I will never forget the night RFK was shot and killed.

I was in college, in California, and my then-boyfriend and I had gone to the movies.  We were both RFK supporters.  Left the movie and turned on the car radio and had to pull over.  Total shock.  I sat up all night watching a B&W portable TV for up dates and cried and cried.

Thought that Bernie would be another RFK, he was, and too bad the people did not see him as the last chance for us boomers to make things right…really make America great again and not just for the 1%.

            35. I remember it

I lived 2 blocks away from the international Amphitheater and my dad was a Chicago cop. I remember him leaving for work with his riot helmut. He was stationed across the street from it on a clothing store roof.  I was 12 at the time and we had to be in the house before dark because as my mom said, those hippies are walking through the neighborhood and she was afraid for us. :)

Me and one of my girlfriends snuck out and met up with one of those groups of hippies walking down the street. They were so nice to us as we walked a couple blocks with them to show them how to get to the Amp (as we called it)

I have no clue why people were ever afraid of the hippies.  Yeah, there was Manson, but that was not what the hippies were all bout.
