The most horribly underrated of all the so-called “Seattle” bands (though actually from Ellensburg, which is on the other side of the mountains from Seattle).

Never quite got the media attention that Nirvana, Pearl Jam, or Soundgarden did… even though Chris Cornell produced one of their records, and like Soundgarden themselves, Screaming Trees actually recorded for Black Flag’s SST Records long before a major label would acknowledge their existence.

Yes, and unlike a lot of indie bands, they actually got better after they went to a major label.
