This is one of the finest comments on what happened and a warning to all of us what may happen in the future. The parallels are obvious to anyone who cares to compare the two events. Yes, it can happen here, and yes, this is a wake-up call for all of us of whatever political affiliation or beliefs.

Democratic Socialism
Some of the questions were tricky. The answers could be interpreted in different ways other than what the tester meant. But, all in all, it was a good test to find out about yourself. Thanks for giving us the link.

beemerphill replied to the topic Bernie Sanders: 'Enormously insulting' if Biden ignores progressives in his administration in the forum General Discussion 3 months ago
It is hard to imagine that ANYONE expected Joe to have any real progressive voices in positions of power and influence. He never intended to include Bernie and will not include any people who might steer our government in a Socialist direction. Perhaps Bernie is playing some game that is too deep and complicated for us to understand, or perhaps he…[Read more]

beemerphill replied to the topic Why leftists should vote for Biden in droves in the forum General Discussion 4 months ago
The DNC wants your vote and will give nothing in return. Just like they have always done. Why would anyone believe them this time? The “seat at the table” argument is getting old. It never held water and doesn’t now.

This is basic fear-mongering. Even with the big lead that Biden supposedly has, they are still scared spitless of another surprise like the last. It is somewhat insulting for them to treat us this way, but they are too clueless to figure that out.

This election is frustrating in many ways. The poor choice of candidates, the hassle of wearing masks and distancing, and putting up with so much lying from both sides. But if it draws a bunch of voters off their lazy backends to vote it will not be all negative. So many eligible voters have sat too many elections out in the past. Perhaps this…[Read more]

This is a Free Country and this site is very tolerant of most opinions. You can say what you want and as long as you are not overly nasty about it we will all read it and consider it. Even if it is somewhat silly. When I first came to this site is was because I believed in what Bernie was saying. Now I am staying because we can be exposed to a…[Read more]

At one time I would have listened to you and supported you. Had you pushed the issue the last Democratic Primary and Convention could have had a different result. And we would have backed you all the way. Now you are shilling for the crooks who cheated you, TWICE !! Sorry, Bernie, your credibility with me has sunk pretty low.

I was medically retired in 1970. I am 100% P&T. After I turned 65 I qualified for Medicare. That means that I have TriCare for Life. Medicare and Tricare are both socialized medicines. I still go to the VA and have for 50 years. They have always provided quality care and treated me well. My appointments with the VA are usually when they were…[Read more]

What a shame! A bright young dedicated person dies from this awful virus. Today when I went to Walmart there were signs up that said “Mask Required” and I saw dozens of idiots who chose to go without a mask. Wearing a mask would prevent so many cases, and yet there are people who call the virus a hoax, decide that their “Personal Freedom” is worth…[Read more]

This would be a great time for the Republicans to return the rules to 60 votes to confirm instead of a simple majority. Then they can say that they will voluntarily wait until after the election to vote for a SCOTUS replacement for Ginsburg. This would not only be a class move, it would take the steam out of any Democratic talking points on the…[Read more]

Trump was caught completely unaware and spoke well of RBG. It was not written by his staff or cleared with the campaign. It was what he actually thought and it was respectful and from his heart. We can not ask for more.

When the leadership of an airplane company decides that it is more important to make money than to produce quality aircraft this is what you get. There are way too many cases of money people taking over manufacturing companies and thinking only of increasing the “bottom line”. Pride in their product and long-range planning are things of the…[Read more]

I do not believe that Joe will keep ACA when he has a chance to have his own plan in its place. There would be little reason for him to merely improve on Obama’s compromise health care plan. If he were to take that route it would make Obama look great with no credit going to Joe. He is too old to let that happen. He probably only has one term to…[Read more]

Both candidates already have political commercials pushing their own health care plans. Neither one wants to use anything that would give credit to any previous president. Biden may have been there when the ACA compromise was passed, but he wants to see his own health plan used instead. He has already said that he does not want Medicare for All.…[Read more]

Sometimes we must remind ourselves who is making believe that he is a liberal and who is claiming to be a conservative in this election.
