|Bio / About||
I am blue_in_AK other places. I am an original hippie (still smoking after all these years), first-wave baby boomer, almost 70 years old (egad!). I still have about 30 good years left in me, I think. I have three daughters and six grandchildren. I’m married to my high school sweetheart, with whom I reconnected in 2000 after 37 years apart, and life is good. I’ve lived in Ohio, Colorado, Texas, California, briefly on a commune in Oregon, but Alaska has been my home since 1975, and I have no plans to leave. I love it here.
I obtained a degree in psychology from the University of Houston in 1968, which I never used. I was a legal secretary/paralegal/legal transcriptionist (and a correctional officer for a year) for about 30 years, now happily retired. I played improv flute for many years when I was younger, but I don’t know any guitar players now, so my creative outlet has become photography, which doesn’t require other people’s participation. (I invite you to check out my photo website in my sig line.) I enjoy gardening and cooking, especially Indian food which I LOVE. I have the most extensive spice rack in Alaska, I’m sure. (Ask PeaceNow/InTheFlow who has seen it with her own eyes.)
I’ve been an antiwar leftie all my life. Since I come from a long line of Quakers, pacifism is in my blood.
