Good to see yins, @Closeupready, @Dunatus …
You also may not know that I’ve been on a hunt for solving the mystery @hobbit709 was mentioning, and it’s been enormously challenging. We should have started this after SFFH passed. We are, in fact, in uncharted territory. I will repeat my ask…
If anyone knows anyone with knowledge of how to…[Read more]

But some times I think he writes fiction.
The point you make is very apt and I agree. Yes, I think our congress – and even most of the so called progressives – are bought and paid for. It is not entirely their fault, there are three lobbyists for every member of Congress on any given day. And the system they have to work with is a sh…[Read more]

Always wanted to carry a sword around. Maybe some good chainmail for armor. Screw that AK and AR shit, give me a broadsword.
Btw, when you hear about that dude who got arrested in Maine for swinging a sword around town and screaming; “There can be only one”
Well, that dude definitely wasnt me.

Jim Lane replied to the topic Opinion | Negotiating to End the Ukraine War Isn’t Appeasement (Politico) in the forum General Discussion 7 months ago
You write that the author is “regurgitating obvious lies about what is going on in this conflict.”
Specifically, what are the lies, obvious or otherwise? As to the current situation, for example, the author writes that “the momentum on the battlefield is shifting in Russia’s favor.” Is that a lie?
My reaction to the article is not…[Read more]

My point really is that it isn’t simply A or B, mental illness or guns. Regarding mental illness, we’ve got to improve diagnosis and treatment, vastly. This would likely result in fewer people even wanting to have guns, at least for reasons other than hunting or basic self defense.
It just strikes me as so ridiculous that the debate a…[Read more]

Like @dunatus says above, they were concerned about excess savings last year and now we have a war and rising inflation so they can get those idle savings. It should be interesting to see what happens with crypto in the next few years. Most of the young people I talk to are either dabbling or all-in with crypto and they’re not putting much of…[Read more]

It is possible that we here put Western pundits to shame because we know that we are making guesses-often educated guesses.
Most of the West’s punditry I have heard act like they have the Russian playbook.
As a matter of fact I have even heard some of those pundits use those exact words: “…these are military tactics right out of the…[Read more]

Some say history repeats itself, some say it echoes. I guess it is always new in some way, but god damn if we don’t keep repeating the same mistakes, decades and even centuries after we made them in the first place. I say “we”, but really, it is a small group. A minority of billionaires and power brokers who control most of the wo…[Read more]

As @dunatus correctly surmised, the story is BS, or at least mostly BS. Quoting from NBC today [link]:
For many, whether deliberate or not, these strikes exposed the absurdity of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s claim that he launched the war to “denazify” Ukraine.
“Putin seeks to distort and manipulate the Holocaust to justify an illegal…[Read more] -

If those claims are accurate – then Pfizer’s vaccine should never have been cleared for even emergency use.
