Right you are, Levine’s prescription is off-base. He seems to want to re-litigate Bernie’s support of Hillary last time, as though there was anything else he could have realistically done. Now that Bernie has a real chance, here’s hoping that people don’t blow it by requiring purity tests that no one could pass.
GloriaMundi replied to the topic I don't understand how centrists are baffled AOC endorsed Bernie in the forum General Discussion 3 weeks ago
People who make such statements are not flummoxed, they just don’t like the choice AOC made and use identity politics (their favorite weapon) to play “gotcha”. In their minds, it works. For the rest of us, we’re like, are you just stupid, or what?

Yay! Great endorsement, substantive, will be helpful in NH and hopefully that will act as a springboard this time around, just like last time.
Go, Bernie!!! Let’s win this thing!!!!!
GloriaMundi replied to the topic It really is a sign of how bad the modern Democratic party has become in the forum General Discussion 1 month ago
You are so right. If they really cared how people in their party vote, would not those other House members be receiving even more vitriol than Tulsi? But of course, there’s more going on here, and it is never out in the open. That is my main problem with the Democrats and what they have become: they are never, ever straightforward about wha…[Read more]

You quote Bernie Sanders:
“I think the current occupant of the White House is an embarrassment to our country. I think he is a pathological liar… I also think he is a racist, a sexist, a homophobe, a xenophobe, somebody who is gaining cheap political points by trying to pick on minorities, often undocumented immigrants.”

“all of the diversity of our youths was in a single school district”
He is also slow to realize that the word “diversity” means “consisting of different (components/races/what-have-you)”… IOW, having all of the black students in one school does not mean that school has “all of the diversity”. Dimwit.
“He may still plant his corn in the dark of the Moon but he will plant better corn developed by better men than he.”
I knew that something was bothering me about this whole mini-essay, and this encapsulates it. Because these days, 90% of the corn grown in the US is GMO corn. Obviously developed by “better men” than the farmers who grow it… y…[Read more]

How utterly ridiculous and tone deaf Biden is.
…dismissing the demand for an end to all deportations with a taunt: “You should vote for Trump.”
As if Trump is against deportations? As if Trump did not campaign on an openly racist platform against Mexicans? So not only did he respond with a childish taunt, he got it ass-backwards, with no groun…[Read more]

That was yucky. Always when there is a direct question on something a little bit politically risky, she responds with “I want to talk about it, get everyone at the table… yadda yadda yadda”. Evasive as hell. It’s wearing thin, Liz.
GloriaMundi started the topic Prince's Band Members Say They're Feeling The Bern | NBC News Now – YouTube in the forum General Discussion 2 months ago
That was a bizarre response. I guess she thought there was some subtext. My hunch is that she is feeling sensitive about her lack of support from black voters overall, for whatever reason that may be. But if she can’t take that little bit of heat (if that’s what it was), how the hell will she stand up against Trump when he taunts her with “P…[Read more]
Bernie is running in a national campaign, not a global one; and as such, he must appeal to US voters. His strong appeal to the working class is partly because he really does want to create and save US jobs. Clearly (to me) he also understands global working class issues. But he needs to focus on the things he has some ability to control, and he…[Read more]
You complain that Sanders does not “show solidarity for whole working class regardless of state borders”. The other thing that makes it undeniable: after talking about Tulsi, Hillary then said that Jill Stein would not “give it up” because she is “also a Russian asset“. It’s that “also” that she can’t wiggle out of. If Jill is also a Russian asset, and you were just talking about Tulsi, then… simple logic tells us who else you were saying is a Ru…[Read more]
The attempt to walk it back is both hilarious and sad. We all heard what was said on the podcast, and it was unambiguous. Also there is the fact that one of her minions, when asked if it referred to Tulsi, said “If the nesting doll fits…” — again, unambiguous.
The biggest tell, though, is this: if in fact Hillary did not mean it was the Ru…[Read more]
