GloriaMundi replied to the topic 'Fire Every Board Member Then Fire DeJoy': Lawmaker Fury Grows Over Postal Service Leadership in the forum General Discussion 1 year ago
I am wondering what is taking so long to do something about the gutting of our US Post Office.
Once they’re fired and new leadership is in place, first repair the damage, then expand services to include basic banking for the people.

GloriaMundi replied to the topic So I went online to make a vaccine appointment – sounds simple, right? in the forum General Discussion 1 year ago
… give them a call. That’s how I got my appointment once I was eligible. No luck with the state online system (California), and no luck with the CVS online system either because I did not have my SS medical card at hand with the number on it. But I was able to book an appointment over the phone, at a nearby CVS. That was just over a month ago,…[Read more]

He really does get under the skin of neolibs, more than anyone else I can think of. He knows how to pierce the bubble of the most sanctimonious hypocrites out…[Read more]

GloriaMundi replied to the topic CPAC: Hyatt Hotels says stage resembling Nazi rune is 'abhorrent' in the forum General Discussion 1 year ago
…to wit: “First, I had NEVER heard that this specific rune was adopted by Nazi officials.”
The reply gives citations about the rune and how it was used by the SS, and your response is “Do you have a point?”
Weird.

…as pointed out by @njcher, the rabid right loves to engage in this kind of symbolism. To believe otherwise is IMO to ignore what is as plain as the nose on one’s face.

…but what he can do with that seat can be very effectively stifled by the Democrats. And despite claims from some sides that Bernie has been ineffective as a Senator, we all know that is a fiction. I would like him to continue pressing his people-centered agenda. I know I’ll be unhappy with him on this or that going forward, as I’ve been…[Read more]

GloriaMundi replied to the topic Son of Wall Street mogul running for Wisconsin Senate seat was pleasantly surprised Milwaukee is a normal city in the forum General Discussion 1 year ago
At least I hope so. That is beyond out-of-touch and verging on La-La-Land, and really pretty arrogant.

GloriaMundi replied to the topic Setback for Assange prosecution appeal after intervention by former government minister (The Canary) in the forum General Discussion 1 year ago
…it is galling to think about the fact that Assange is wasting away in prison while Trump, for one example, continues on his destructive path, trying to be America’s Strongman, thinking maybe in March he’ll be able to put something together. Gah, what a turd he is. And Assange is a gem, a rare person indeed, who used his intelligence to do…[Read more]

Sometimes I wonder… Bernie has always been good at reaching across the aisle to achieve a goal. It seems fair to view Manchin as someone “across the aisle” from Bernie, since Manchin is more conservative than many Republicans and Bernie is, of course, very progressive. But Bernie being an outsider, i.e. “not even a Democrat”, must tread…[Read more]

GloriaMundi replied to the topic Lauren Boebert Faces $5,000 Fine after Setting off Capitol Metal Detector: Report in the forum General Discussion 2 years ago
Why is she allowed on the floor of the House at all? If she won’t follow the rules, she doesn’t get to play. All the more important, since this flouter-of-the-rules also aided and abetted an attempted insurrection! Next, pass the bill that expels her and other participants from Congress altogether.
Consequences. It’s what’s for breakfast.

It will be like 9/11, where they have a bunch of new repressive laws already written into a 1000-page document, ready to go. OTOH, they are not wrong to call it an…[Read more]
